N this is beautifully written, obviously telling the biblical story of how David slew Goliath and you have written it in my favourite rhyme well done n well done it had me in it really is a skill to tell astory in rhyme because not only are you searching for the appropriate rhyming word but its still has to make sense and flow which you have so admirably achieved

well done

Dear Notes,

For with God's sword in our hand we can battle giants and win for good. Good rhyming and cadence.

Possessing courage and valour are necessary attributes to deal with the trials of life, just as you said, like David. Your rhymes worked well and I enjoyed the story of David within the poem. Enjoyable read. Faye

This is a beautiful piece of writing that the author has created with this post. We should all aim to emulate David in fighting for God and trusting that he will look after us all the way.

Thank you so much Carolyn, I've never had a poem devoted for me, I've written poems for others, unfortunately my name's not David, oh well, sigh!
I enjoyed this little biblical trip through one of the favourite stories, although I've never actually read one written as one, well done with this one, a good start my new week. Nice rhyme and rhythm! You're off the mark! Well done, blessings, Roy.

    Hi there Roy,
I am delighted you enjoyed 'Dare to be a David'. I hope to write more of the old Bible stories. And I am happy to be the first. I may not state it again, but all of these can be for you. Love you, Carolyn

Carolyn... Wonderful poem telling the story of David and Goliath. The cadence in the poem kept the reader (me) moving along. Your rhyming was impeccable.

The following two sentences worked wonders for me as I'm going through a rough time right now :
So when you're feeling small, and insignificant, or doubt your value and worth
Dare to be a David, and battle for the Lord, while you are on this earth

Thanks, John

Hi John, so glad you enjoyed this one. I thought I had written enough 'nonsense' for awhile and decided to get back down to business. Smile.
I hope things smooth out for you. Love, Carolyn

Caroline this a a wonderful way to tell a story from the scriptures. I think with all your expertise you exhibit in this beautiful poem you should do more of these interesting poems.

I don't visit as often as before because God has chosen me to bear some of His suffering He endures for the wrongs of this world. Please pray for Russia, including the country you live in. This is an urgent plea.
Love, peace and blessings,
Sylvia

    Hi there dear Sylvia,
I will cherish the wonderful golden cross you have awarded.
Your thoughtful words, and solicitation for prayers, for our country, Russia, and others will not go unfulfilled. I was in the Ukraine in 1994, I feel for all of them and can not imagine what they are going through. I pray peace will reign and for your safety as well my dear friend, Love, Carolyn
