How true is this senyru? I feel writers are writers in the womb. This has a great presentation and a great message. "that excite a new" - is a great line.

Such a true little poem. It is written in perfect senryu form with correct syllable count. Good luck in the contest.

Hi Poet,

You sure did an outstanding job in writing this Senryu poem. I really enjoyed the read. I also liked reading your author notes to find out how you got the idea to write this. I like the part that tells about the seed of creativity. Neat!

Yes an interesting look at the ancient craft -humans will always have an overwhelming urge to express their thoughts and feelings - great pic- i love the word 'chisels' here - it really captures the process - long and arduous and precise

good luck in the contest

our few words and vivid image allows the reader to see and feel that writers are the chisels that chip away at the old language to bring it to life in a new way

Great way in which to chisel an old truism fresh- " everything has been said before, there is nothing new; it's all in how you say it"...which is where we poets come in.

What a wonderfully written, deeply interesting senryu, Mystery Poet. that's is precisely what writers do, however. They take a topic or subject, one that has probably been pondered over and even written about more times than we could count, and put a new, unique spin on it.

You said quite a bit in 17 syllables here.

Well done, and best of luck to you in the prompt.

This was one of the best I've seen. The whole concept f taking what is considered a tired thought and turning it into something that is fresh and exciting was perfect. Loved the picture. Very nicely done. Great thought pattern and flow.
