This is a beautifully simple poem with a perfect image & the ending shows us the metaphor for life. The idea of cardinal red against winter white is very nicely drawn in your words. Thanks for sharing.

This is great, I like the way it is presented and the picture too.
Good well chosen words and they fit the structure very well.
I like the first line and the alliteration, it helps emphasise the words, which I think is needed in a poem like this.

cardinals contrast
against winter's artic storm
give hope for springtime
Good complimentary photo. The syllable count is spot on. Good alliteration with cardinal's/contrast. Clear message that is short and simple.

What a lovely little red splotch on the barren white landscape this little feathered creature is. A definite sign spring is near and I liked the way you captured the onslaught of winter and it's residual effect and the clever introduction of the new season by way of the sighting of this tiny red bird. How wonderful you also captured this delightful photo to enhance this write. Well penned and presented.
Cheers P

You have captured the bird well both in the photo and also in your 5-7-5 poem. All syllables correct. Good luck in the contest. Mary

I wish that, that was a sign of spring for us in Wisconsin. We've had Cardinals all winter long. I hope that your lovely Haiku rings true for you. Excellent write.

Great picture. Just love cardinals. They're so beautiful. Really nice alliteration in the first line, and ending it on a positive note is the way to do it. Well done! Les
