I think the simplicity of the form actually perfectly reflects the theme-the child.
It's interesting the way you have touched so any different aspects of the child, the innocence of this particular child, reflections of your own journey, prayers for this child and also advice all wrapped up in a simpler message.
I liked this verse the best:
" Behold this child -- as he begins
The journey all embark,
Where all will stall, lose ground, and fall
Or stumble in the dark."
excellent use of enjambment.

Katz, I really appreciate your sixer, my friend, as well as your kind words about this poem...which will live on beyond me with my godson.

Nice.....there is something purely poetical about a baby , loved, embarking on a journey with cumulative effort to support this sweet innocent child
Well written . Well done

Hello. It may not be typical of your style, but it is typical of your care. This is a lovely poem for a christening. The child is a lucky boy to have such a godfather. It is not every godparent who can give such a gift.
May he be well.

Hi, David.
The most simple and small things in our lives have the capability to provide us with happiness.
This one is lovely and is so rich in emotions.
The tone of this is perfect for the ceremony.
A very well written poem celebrating the beginning of his journey. I'm sure your friend will feel blessed to have this for the little baby...loved the pic. :-) He's adorable.

It is typical in excellence. This has a very old feel to it. It impresses me as something written long ago and yet the language is more modern. Like perhaps you have a clear memory of a previous life in Victorian times that mixes with your current views. It makes for a great piece and a damn strange review!! mikey

Nice photograph. You are very kind. I know you'll make a splendid Godfather. Make sure to take the baby for pizza when he grows a touch older.
Beautiful poem.

Very lovely and I am sure it will be well received by his parents and loved ones.
What a kind gift to offer. He will have it always as a token from his
Godfather. Smiles, robin :)
