Yes, I was horrified and not pleasantly. That kind of thing happened so long ago we forget it happened. Good writing. God loves you and I do too.

Thank you very much, Janie, Indeed, it happened far more often than we'd like to believe, probably.

Please give my love to Miss Evelyn.

    God Bless...

'E's told me lots of things 'bout you two, 'e has." - Oh crap, don't need to be a psychic to know something really nasty is gonna result. Woman keep your mouth shut, uh!

her current demeanor made him a bit-- uneasy. - Ooo my spidey sense is tingling. Is the hunter now the prey?

Aint 'cha gonna say 'ello to your son?" - Oh crap, wtf! I didn't see this coming, I expected it to be Pip.

This reads so professionally, I was able to concentrate on the story and nothing else. This is a sure top contender (if not the clear winner). Excellently done.

Thanks, NauhtyScribe. I am very happy that you think so, at least (LOL) That's a start!

Seriously, thanks for all of the kind comments and the fantastic review. I truly appreciate it!

This is seriously gruesome, and all the more so as it is so well written. The photos set the scene, the dialogue is excellent and draws the reader on to the final horrific disclosure. It takes very good writing to condense so much horror into so few words. Very well done. I suspect the story is going to haunt me! Hadria.

Well, I hope it haunts you, Hadria...at least, just a little bit (LOL). That means I've done my job, at least.

I really appreciate the awesome review, my friend. Thanks again...

Hello. This is a well written, chilling story. I may not sleep tonight. I wish you good luck in the contest. I guess you better win, or I can't imagine what may happen...

Hah, thanks, padu, I appreciate the sentiment. Win or lose, at long as I gave it my best shot and folks were entertained by my writing, that's more than worth the efforts.

    Thanks again, my friend!

Love this: "the dead won't rest in pieces..."
Caught season premiere of "Bates Motel" last evening & thought of you: mother Norma concerned about son's obsession w/ animal dissection & a dead teacher!
(oops! I'm not supposed to know who wrote this!)

Love your many subtle touches -- such as using this "themed" adjective: "Skeletal branches"
Typo: "supper prompty"

With those details out of the way, let me say this one is really compelling & fun (for me!) becuz it's clear & easy to follow. The Irish or Scottish brogue is very naturally done in dialogue. The twist at the end snuck up on me good 'n' proper! *smile* Thanks for sharing & good luck in the contest.

Thank you for reading it and sharing your thoughts with me on it, barleygirl. I will fix that typo right away, thanks for pointing that out.

I've never understood how readers identify my writings. However, it happens quite frequently. Nothing I can do about that except change my style, and that ain't gonna happen, LOL!

Thanks so much again, I really appreciate it.

The setting is revealed in the opening lines. Good description of the scenery. Certain lines like tied off the horses...eight pounds, five shillings tells the era and time. Good dialogue between the characters. Good transition between the events. Good intense pace leading to a horrified ending.

You set the stage well and create an eerie atmosphere. I knew something was terribly wrong but didn't guess the reveal until you were ready for me to. Excellent dialogue and vivid descriptive detail. This is one great example of revenge served cold!! :-) Brooke

Thanks, Brooke, I really appreciate getting your opinions on this one. I saw the prompt and almost passed on it. But then, my malicious muse rant rampant, and, well...this was the result.

    Thanks so much again!

Aye, ya do, now do ya, lass? Well, ~anon~ for now (obviously), but you'll know soon enough whether or not your suspicions are correct.

I'm very happy that you enjoyed the story. I appreciate it, Carolyn!

This is an unexpected and gruesome story. "Oh, gov'nor...let's not be rude."

Lidia violently yanked the rope binding the sack. The burlap unfurled, exposing the dismembered corpse within.

Aint 'cha gonna say 'ello to your son?"
The story is one of revenge. Very well written.
Best wishes
Sylvia

Bleh my web has been playing up today and I thought your name was hiding as a result, before I noticed it was a contest entry.

Very nice story and I'll be honest, I was not entertained. I was vicarious.

The thought of my father being delivered my mother's corpse and him having a heart attack at the sight of it really pleases me.

But then I have a little black book that's getting to be as heavy as the bible.

Hah, well, I hate to admit it, Erik, but I have a book similar to the one you described as well. I'm also happy to know that you were thrilled by Dr. Beaumont's fate, and shared in the joy with poor Lidia.

I appreciate the most honest and entertaining review!
