Nicely done. I have a hard time doing these different types but you nauled it. And the words you used to describr everything was so graphic (and I mean that in a complimentary way). It felt like I was really there

Hi Greg.
Your well chosen words paint a very dry but strong image.
The last line is very well thought out and gives a mystic look to the write.
Excellent use of personification here.
'dried tears of dust' is a very effective phrase.
It flows well too.
Good luck! :)

Well done, my friend. You painted a picture where a mirage is definitely needed. This could also refers to one's state of mind--parched, dry, cracks, splintered. Hope still remains alive.

A very well written Whitney poem.
The wording certainly describes the conditions in many
states.
Good luck in the contest.
Excellent piece of writing.

Wow thank you Sam, that means so much to me, incredible. I love when I hear from you. I think I can finally get back to reading tonight! You're so wonderfully kind Sam, thank you.

The river bed is much need of rain, but not much luck out on the plains. Drought follows and there is nothing left. Only a mirage of the heat that gets to you for the want of water.

Hello Greg,
Happy New Year to you, friend.
I'm not entirely sure about the rules of this form - but I'm giving you a virtual six - all out, darn it! - for the sheer beauty of the imagery in this one.
Fabulously done. Hope all 's well with you. You're still on my list ... since I'm not Italian and don't carry a violin case, that's not a bad thing!
Have a super weekend. :)

This is well written. It I like how you present both images of
the drought and the rainfall. The flow of words is even. Great choice of artwork. Great job!

I bet seeing a mirage is probably the most awesome thing to perceive. That picture makes me want like a glass of water or something. Great job
