You sound like me and my Mr. Green & Yellow 1954 Mercury during early fifties. LOL. I can see the mishap of the car pile up. Glad nobody was hurt.

Yeah Bro I was lucky the insurance paid for that. later on, I got told they would no longer insure me. Glad you came along later to this an FS reviewer went through this earlier, and somehow I messed up badly with a lot of errors, but did not check it before I put it up again.

I remember the cars of those times, I owned a singer car at that time, it was a good car, but had no end of trouble with the fuel pump! My first car was a Hillman Minx, used to overheat all the time. Cars are so much better now! I remember the Triumph Heralds. Motoring long distances was a great undertaking. Well done, Bro, enjoyed your story and travels, blessings, Roy

Thanks, Bro Roy. Glad you came in later on this. I stuffed up badly. Thought OI had edited but one of the reviewers picked up an awful mess which I have now corrected. Lord Bless.

My pleasure bro

Your style of writing is engaging and really wanted to read more. I love your memories of your car, as cars are a lot more than an item but become a big part of our lives forming a lot of our memories.

Thanks very much glad you came later than earlier. I had stuffed up badly even after I pout it up for further reviewing but now fixed. Cheers.

An accident happens so quickly before we can react to maybe avoid impact it already happens. The dread of fixing the damaged car takes much longer than the accident itself

Hi Sandra glad you waited a bit I made an awful mess of this chapter one of the previous reviewers picked it up and luckily I was able to tidy it up. I appreciate him catching it. I had thought I had re-edited the chapter. Be more careful with the next Revived one.

Sankey, this is a real nice write, and is fairly interesting, but there are quite a few problems, almost exclusively with punctuation.
"red cars as being "speed-bums"", and..." You have two double quote marks closing speed-bums, and you placed the comma after the quote marks; should be within them - "speed-bums," and...
"driveway."! But, well, that's what we did," Same thing, you have the period in the quote marks, but then added a exclamation point.
"really finished off..you know," an ellipsis consists of three dots and then a space should be employed, "off... you know."
"the liughts had turned RED!" Typo - misspelled "lights."
"That resulted from a smash I was the cause of, in Parramatta Road, Auburn, in our City..." The paragraph that starts with this is redundant as it repeats virtually everything from the third paragraph.
"my 'Triumph Heralds'. I made it to Dubbo and return.(After a couple of days..." Period outside the quote marks after "Triumph Heralds." And no space after "return" and the open parenthesis mark.

Hi friend I am sorry for all the errors and I hope when I fix it you will return and up that rating please. I have never ever marked anyone down for spelling or grammar errors.
-
I understand what you are saying, and even though I am slow to mark down for an occasional error, too many requires attention. Spelling, grammar and punctuation are integral parts of writing. Yes, if you take the time to correct your mistakes, I will be more than happy to upgrade the rating.
It just doesn't seem fair to me to give someone a five star rating if they might not care if their work is somewhat sloppy - it's not fair to those who post truly excellent works. By the way, I enjoyed 6 days shore leave in Perth when I was in the Navy back in the eighties.
-
Hey I totally agree and having gone back I don't know how I stuffed up so badly I thought I had re-edited the chapter. Thanks and it is now fixed if you wanna go back thanks for your patienece.
-
I don't need to reread your work, I can take your word that you have edited it. I have raised the rating to five stars. Thanks for understanding.
-
Hey, mate no worries thanks very much was so glad you picked that up and later reviewers missed out on my mess! Cheers. Will look for your stuff and reciprocate.

Very nice readable story. It was very enjoyable with a nice relaxed pace. It's the kind of read that makes me forget about the turmoil that surrounds my life. Thanks for sharing your life with us. Blessings to you.

Hi Dougie another new friend. Hope you will have a look back to the other chapters I split up. There are still some rewards on a few of them. Not sure you have been to my stuff before but we recently began a new project of splitting up old larger chapters of my life and it seems people like what I have done. besides as I split the chapters there are more pictures now and some extra inspiration comes in along the way. Thanks heaps for your interet.

I saw nothing to correct here. Fond memories we have of those experiences that weren't pleasant at the time. I name cars too. I've had names like the Blue Goose, The Lead Sled, Minerva, Olive and more. It's a wonder we survive automobiles. I guess many do not.

This is another interesting chapter to add to the collection that the author has created with this piece of writing. I remember my uncle having a Triumph Acclaim. It was the big thing back in the day, but they look so dated now.

I can see the improvement here. A smoother read and some new bits and pieces that tie it all together better. This seems on the money now. Can't think of a thing to add. The pictures you mention will be a nice addition. mike
