Very nicely written. I agree language and writing has gone the way of the dinosaur and it really is sad. The quotes were a slick addition to this piece; supported your position on 'cyberdelic' - I happen to love quotes. I never use 'text speak' it's for people who cannot stop texting.
This was a very informative and enjoyable read most of which I am keenly aware of because I am a child of the 60's. "We have come a long way baby"...but at what cost?

I too avoid text speech. If I don't understand it then I won't use it, is my motto and text shorthand completely eludes me.
Thank you so much for your great review and comments. I so agree that this technology, while important as a tool, has come at a sizable cost.

So who told you about my tinfoil? And please don't knock it until you try it. It was the first wireless and I got many messages that way. LOL Good essay, much truth, some of it helpful as well as humorous.

I'm certain they are most familiar with your communications conveyed through your tinfoil bonnet on Alpha Centauri!
I'm glad you enjoyed this bit of cyber satire. I readily admit that this technology overwhelms me at times.
Thank you for your always funny and fun reviews of my work.

The writer expresses a valid point in this story to how things have changed. I whole heartedly agree with the writer. You can do just about anything with todays technology which I thinks it handicaps are youth and makes them lazy. I like this story.

OMG I love this. Those of us who grew up in the real world seem to have a different outlook on socializing and communication. I absolutely refuse to text--if someone can't leave me a voicemail, they don't want to talk to me very bad. Children have replaced learning cursive with keyboarding. I literally had a young person ask how I learned to write the way I do!!! Great write~DEbbie

It is amazing and more than a bit scary what this next generation is evolving into. I'm not sure the written word, at least as we have known it, will ever be the same. I know that much has been gained with the onset of cyber technology, but not without much being lost as well.
Thanks so much for your review and generous rating, but most of all your comments.

Coming from the "wired, as in getting high generation" it is indeed strange how things have evolved in communciation. We were all about telling it like it is and letting it all hang out in protest of the establishment. Now it is nonsensical ramblings about what one did or ate the day before :( I like how you always use quotes in your pieces as they really add to what you have to say. Loved this totally.

Isn't it amazing being able to look back on such an expanse of time and see the monumental changes that have come about?
I love your review on this piece, it is so true, every word of it.
Thank you, Al, as always for your terrific input.
