Sharyn,
I love how you showed despair then with beautiful imagery you took the reader back up and clearly pointed out the tranquilly and peace that surrounds. I get the message that one can't really appreciate the highs in life without an understanding of the lows.I'm glad to have a six to award you for this one because it was very uplifting to me and I enjoyed so very much. Congrats on the win! Brian :)

Good imagery and word composition. I wasn't with the flow the whole time, but i don't think that's too important in a poem like this.

Great descriptive words bone lonely and soul cold. In her despair the narrator says she could become a "salt water Ophelia." It's a great thought that hearing the music makes her feel that happiness is not a myth. After seeing only the desolate beach, she now finds all manner of beauty--graceful birds, glorious colors. The music has awakened her senses to feel again and heal again. Beautifully expressed, and congratulations on the contest win! Your poem fit the bill. judiverse

this is gorgeous! Favorite bone lonely
I stay soul cold
alone, wind-blown
half a whole
it's music
in the mists
and I can find it
through the miracle
that's me
thanks to you and your muse! Caroline

Way uplifting! If one could only guess the sole thing that could cheer each lonely heart.... For some, it might be as simple as "attitude". For others, much more complicated. Love the artwork! Wish I were sitting there right now.

Well done.
I see why you won the contest.
Congratulations.
I especially liked:
I close my tired eyes
and feel the sun's nurture
soaking through my skin
and traveling
through the miracle
that's me
I do agree ... it is always the wonder of it all that revives me. Hugs, d

For me, music is just that healing and refreshing, bringing me back from despair and loneliness. I loved this poem and could really relate. Well done.

Beautifully sculpted words highlight this impressively imaged word painting on how a day at the beach can turn from depressed loneliness to joyful togetherness and how that colors the perceptions. Exquisitely written with perceptive pauses and tailored phrasing, this is a work of art.
