WOW! You should have entered this in the fable contest... guess it was too late. This is without a doubt the funniest, best written pun poem I've ever seen! BRAVO! :)

Fabulous! I love it.The humorous irony in this is superb, Steve. The wording is very clever, especially as you have sustained it for 8 verses. I certainly hope you get to publish a book of humorous verse. The world needs it! Giddy

Great poem Bonny Lad. Funny to the nth degree and wise. I will be sure to take heed of the message.
Loved this last line in particular
'To stow thrones; it's prob'ly not wise!'
The Auld Yin.

Great cadence and rhymes in limerick form
love the way the rhymes contribute to the humor, and love the comic asides
excellent alliteration in grimmer and glummer
and in reddened and rare
I'm laughing myself silly at Roebuck and Sear LOL
stow thrones - I love puns
and I also love gallows humor, so the ending is perfect!!! :-) Brooke

Loved this modern fable, Steve.

You are the master of stories in poems. What a marvelously twisted sense of humor. This cautionary tale allowed you free rein.(sic)

Always a pleasure to see your name pop up in my message box.

Cute! Very cute!! and I liked it as well. Your humor came through like I wanted it to and I was not disappointed. The moral of the poem speaks well for the journey we took.

Stow Thrones (along with 'Soup, a cauli, fridge elastic, eggs, peas, halitosis' and 'You can't have your kayak and heat it' all come from an ancient and venerable radio show called 'My Word' - probably BBC but it's so long ago I can't be sure...
    Thanks for the kind words.

Hehehe Steve ... this is a funny limerick and I saw it coming. Too cute how you made them thrown them in the attic. May the proverb run true to course. LOL.

This was humor that's rarely seen, many don't know what humor means. I like the sing song effect of the verse. I laughed and laughed
This was a sad tale, which shows that monarchies fail. Their prowess at design is not at all stable, they should stay with stone tables. I enjoyed the read.

I've don't that too, a couple of times. One of these days, when I do my very best, I will get to the contest on time. Lol. Peace for today.
