This write was absolutely brilliant, I loved it. The end left me laughing as so,
Now the God-fearin' folk of that county,
Will still give a bit of a roar,
When they tell of the young fool at midnight
Who nailed his own coat to the floor.
Brilliant read,
Colette

I love the way you wrote this and the artwork gives it such an old fashioned feel. The ghost story will never die no matter how our technology progresses..and I love how you make reference to that here. Great job and good luck in the contest.

Well, I wasn't afraid of ghosts either, till I read this and you said it was a true story, lol :) This is a gripping (no pun intended) tale with a lot of spooky suspense. I think it has a good chance so good luck with this.

This is absolutely fabulous! You have displayed in your words the thoughts of children vividly and their daring antics. I come from a small town and can see everyone laughing about the child that nailed his coast to the floor. Absolutely precious.

Wow! What a great story. You are a very talented yarnspinner. Your narrative runs smoothly with well-chosen details. And the end--priceless. If I had a 6, you'd get it!

'The Coat-Tail Ghost' is a delightfully written piece. This talented poet's work entertained me from the beginning to the end. It was a pleasure to both read and review a work of this standard.

A great ghost story, Steve. Your quatrains are perfect, as are your rhythm and rhyme. Thoroughly enjoy the punch line. :) Nancy
