Hey Alexis,
Whew! Glad that was taken care of like it was. Sure is a strange twist of fate!
You've got quite a bit of spag. I just finished going through the previous chapter, which didn't have too much, thank goodness. SO I KNOW YOU CAN DO IT!!
Let me know when you've revised & I'll review it again.
Looking forward to the next, after you've gone over it several times! LOL

Thank you so much, and my apologies for taking so long coming back to thank you but I have been in Dunoon for most of the week clearing my parent's house. Hopefully you'll find chapter eleven much improved. (fingers crossed!)Alexis x

"The problem he now faced was the girl's mother kept changing the story every time she called,"
So glad she's making the classic mistake of the thoughtless criminal.
"perhaps the two youngsters involved were the innocent victims of a deranged mind."
Yay! Busted :P
"Ah, yes, there was - but that was before we found out that this young lady's mother, and I apologise for saying this - was a bloody nut case!"
This made me laugh!
"The interview room was cold and unfriendly with a buzzing strip light, a desk, and three chairs."
Great description of the cold and strange feeling one is likely to experience in an interview room.
"He reckoned Lisa must be some kind of masochist if she hadn't reported her mother before."
People don't understand how you get trapped in the web long before you know what has happened.
I teared up a bit at the thought of Alan's family taking her in.
I'm so glad it ended with her anticipation of another kiss.
Absolutely wonderful work, Alexis...love, Lisa

Thank you so much, Lisa. Apologies for taking so long to thank you. I've been in Dunoon most of the week clearing out my parent's house and it all took much longer than expected. (a bit like posting this book!) Alexis x

Great writing. Im glad to see that they two youngsters arent in serious bother.
When Lisa is asked about pressing charges, she says that her parents have always treated here well. Sad when kids have to lie like that

Sadly, that's what she truly believed! Sorry, so much is written from memory, it's almost embarrassing. I think that's exactly what happens. When you've been told for years what a disaster you are, you assume that's because you really are. If only parents knew the harm that they do just trying to be right all the time.... Thank you, I know you understand. Alexis x

May I ask if this is your story. I have been through a similar experience

Yes it is. Although written over ten years ago, I felt I couldn't try and get it published until both my parents passed. Today, Friday, I handed the keys of their holiday home in Dunoon into the solicitors for the couple who have bought it. Everything written for the first twenty chapters or so is exactly what happened, the only exception being that Nick was just a wealthy stockbroker, not a millionaire, and he hadn't been watching me for years. He did propose to me after a week, and again when he came to Scotland the week after I returned from staying with my friend, where I met Alan. As they say, fact is often stranger than fiction! Thank you for sharing that. I understand what you mean. Loyalty prevents us from doing things at times
