I just googled Johnny Jump Up. It is a shot of Jack Daniels whiskey mixed with a tiny bit of apple cider. No wonder the Humming Birds are so merry, in the merry month of May.
You had better stay away from that burbling water!

Worried about your drinking problem,
Dave

I loved the imagery in this piece. The playfulness of all nature's gifts made it such a pleasure to read. The Merry Month of May, indeed! The month before the summer heat and after weepy spring, when loves comes to full bloom. Excellent read, Brooke. Blessings, Linda

Brooke, wonderful images (dogwoods, honeysuckle, hummingbirds, etc.) of nature in action. Your rhymes were perfect, as was your meter. The last line summed up nature's celebration of, probably, the best month of the year.

I hope you are collecting all your nature poems into a volume for publication. Faye :)

I like the style you used for thre poem, the picture too. It complimented the lovely poem. I was raised in a little community named Dogwood for all the Dogwood trees and we had many hummingbirds.I loved the flow and rhythm and whole poem.

Hi, Brooke! I just love your exuberance in this poem. It's a verbal slide show about the best things in spring. Just gorgeous! (We are buried in a layer of chartreuse pollen here on the VA coast--sneezin'and wheezin' and prayin' for rain. LOL) I enjoyed your poem! Mary

Yes, it is such a shame all that beauty triggers all that sneezing. :-) Thank you, Mary :-) Brooke

A little early for a May poem isn't it? Lovely though, I fully intend to set out a humming bird feeder this year, I love those birds and who knows, maybe I'll get some snap-dragon flowers to grow this year. Love those too. :)

A lovely tribute to the month of May, which will be soon upon us, Brooke - I like how you are always looking forward. Your spring poems have been gracing us for months now, and already you have jumped into May with its blossoms of joy. Rose.

Dear Brooke,
I can smell the flowers and run my hand through the new growth as I sit here contented with another beautiful poem. (Even though you are jumping the gun or can't you Yanks buy decent calendars.) LOL

Reg
