An excellent poem that speaks with such
a depth of devotion from one who waits
for a loved one to awaken... this is
so moving with its lovely artwork
Well done Carol...

You have projected so well in such a concise format the deepest love. I saw that as my Dad held my Mother. The image does not sadden me; it is a reflection of their entire marriage. Mary

Mary When I wrote this I thought of my elderly parents who have been married 62 years and never apart. I can't imagine how one will continue to live without the other. Carol

This makes me cry. It's hard to type when you're crying. It's just too sad for me. You really know how to break a person's heart. Be proud that your work moves and touches people. Very well written. Excellent. Good luck in the contest.

This is a beautiful poem. It graphically pictures the poignancy of the last days of half of an old couple. The self-sacrificing desire comes across as quite valid. Best regards, Jeanie Mercer

The silver lining here is she is not alone. She has a love so great that he is willing to go in her place. My biggest fear is not dying but doing it alone. Terrific write. joan marie

Joan Marie How simple wonderful that you appreciated my poem. I wrote it while thinking about my parents. They are both 89, married 62 years and never apart. I fear how one will react when the other is no longer here. Thanks for the stars. That was so kind of you. Hope you are feeling fine again. Carol

This reminds me of a Paul Overstreet song called "She Supports Her Man." If you ever get a chance You Tube it. It's awesome, just like your poem. Course Paul didn't write it in 15 words but then if he had, it wouldn't be long enough to be a song.
Great work and good luck in the contest!

What's really sad, is that when they are that connected, the guy doesn't last that much longer. I enjoyed this poem it struck a chord deep within. Well done.
