Although I am British I share your concern about where Britain is going, because it sounds very much as if we are all going in the same direction. (mostly round in ever decreasing circles I think.)
We have exactly the same problems, Gov't taking over the debts of Banks and Building Societies, and floating cash with the backup of gold.
On the other hand it is very difficult to know what else can be done at the moment.
I think wise people are all frightened about the future.
Keep speaking out!
Juliette.

The main thing I am preparing for now is inflation. Serious inflation. Probably next year. This much money cannot be printed and circulated to crank up economies without devaluing currencies; hence, inflation. That's the only thing I know to do in the short term. I remember when George Soros shorted the British Pound and caused it to collapse. I'm fearing this type of thing for the U.S. Dollar. Thanks for sharing your story. And for your great review. Sue

You have written another very good politically motivated poem and it shows very much how deeply you care. It is written with a lot of feeling and common sense and is designed to make people think whether they agree with you or not.

Bravo! Yes let's love the country not the party. Both parties have their frailties. The constitution is supreme and let us get rid or the selfserving crooks in congress and beyond. Okay, I'm done. Well said-very well done. Good flow good rythem and rhyme. Atlantalu

You said it all! I love our Constitution. And there are many trying to rip it to shreds. Makes me more than upset and sad. To hell with both parties. It doesn't matter who my Senator or Congressman is in 2010. If he/she is an incumbent, I'm going to vote against them. If everyone did that, we'd be tossing all their asses out of Washington and then they would know "We Are the People". If only..... Sue

Excellent. You got it just right.
We must stand, say NO, and live within our means, buy our country back... no more indebtedness, no more foreign owners.
Very well done. Timely and on target.

Very valid worries and concerns too, Sue. Your poem states it so well. None of it makes any sense to me. A debt that never can be paid back in who knows how many lifetimes. Not a positive way to go. Your words were very well thought out and in no way obtrusive. It is your opinion and you certainly have a right to voice it. Great job. Joyce

Yeah, verily! Good rhyme and presentation of the message. With the dreadful economy, sending money overseas is the ultimate insult to the American people. How stupid do they really think we are? Glad to see this anger expressed in verse. Bravo!

We're sending billions overseas for aid to others when we now have thousands of people living in "Tent Cities" in California. It's awful. Google it. It's unbelievable! And we are supposed to take care of our own? These homeowners and families are living in tents!! I'm livid. Thanks much for your review. Sue

I like your poem and your politics. I don't understand why everyone with a brain can't see it. Do you watch Glenn too?
Anyway, as to the poem, I found nothing wrong with it and you have actually given me the courage to post a few short pieces I have.
Most folks disagree with me because I naturally bring it out. LOL I think it's that stroke bit you were noting.
Write more. It's the books these people will eventually burn.
Good job!

Poetry is not all about personal angst and love. Poetry has been used through the ages to protest government policy. My primary concern is all the corruption in Congress and other branches of government like judges legislating from the bench. Completely against our Constitution. I want it preserved. Of course I watch Glenn! And listen to Rush. Everything is topsy-turvy. I'm very angry. And I've been angry for 20 years, watching Congress grow more corrupt year by year. Thanks much for your review. And I look forward to reading your own political voice! Sue

This is obviously something that is scaring the bejeepers out of you Sue because you are giving it a lot of poetic attention. Unfortunately I don't think anything can be done the wheels of your destiny are all ready turning friend and there ain't no turning back I think, you have to brace yourself and prepare for impact, and pray it is not as devastating as you seem to perceive it will be.I admire you for speaking out friend[some won't obviously]. Take it easy friend, your mate Hitch.

Sixteezkid, I usually do not review anything that has to do with the political climate of today, for most of it ruffles my feathers in a roll back my eyes kind of way. However you speak well and your point is well taken and needs to be said. I wholeheartedly agree with your lament. This is a big worry and concern of mine, as it should be every American. well done..I applaud you ...jlsavell

I'm not American but the issue of Politics is the same all over the world. I don't know who invented politics but it must have been the devil. It only brings division and ill-feeling. I don't like politics but I do like your poem. Regards from ickajopat.
