Would you go live in a cave? No. To speak of something and do nothing about it, is hypocrisy. I'm using a computer made of elements farmed from Mother Nature. So are you. I can and will admit it. I will even take responsibility for those actions. what I won't do is try to shame my fellow man for living the same life I am.

The first two lines of this poem flow and connect well. The last line
says it all! I pondered on these words and thought about how there is
a lack of caring in our world today. Yet sometimes when I see kindness
and those that care about nature etc., I realize there are still good people who care. The artwork is awesome! Great Poem!

Floods, hurricanes, fires, earthquakes, tornados, tsunamis, heat waves, and we still don't pay attention to the earth crying out. Your well chosen words demonstrates the seriousness of man's actions. Best wishes in the contest.

Thank you for your insightful review. It's a stark reminder of how nature continuously warns us through these devastating events, yet we often overlook the signs. I'm glad the poem's words effectively conveyed the gravity of humanity's actions and their impact on our planet.

Ciao!

Our leaders are arrogant and think mankind can do as it pleases.

The Native Indians showed respect to Mother Nature and SHE provided them with all they needed from food to shelter, to clothing to utensils etc.

We don't show the same respect, instead we exploit and abuse earth's resources. We trash our own home planet. How stupid is that???

We are very short sighted. And deaf to Her pleas.

Mother Nature can do without us but we can not do without Her.

Your passion for the environment is palpable, and I completely understand your frustration. The Native Americans indeed had a profound respect for nature, living in harmony with the land and taking only what they needed. Their sustainable practices are a stark contrast to the exploitation and abuse we see today.

It's disheartening to witness the disregard for our planet's well-being. The consequences of our actions are becoming increasingly evident, from climate change to the loss of biodiversity. We must remember that our survival is intricately linked to the health of our environment. Without a healthy planet, we cannot thrive.

Raising awareness and advocating for sustainable practices are crucial steps in reversing the damage. Every small action counts, and together, we can make a difference. Let's hope that more people and leaders recognise the urgency of this issue and take meaningful steps to protect us.

Governments talk about eco/green but continue to make warfare.

The grain in Ukraine is contaminated with arsenic and mercury due to the war.

Its water, soil, and air are contaminated.

Unlike most, Hungary two years ago was forced to buy grain from Ukraine but it chose to burn it rather than sell it to the people.

    Dear Tempeste,

Thank you for bringing attention to the environmental impact of the war in Ukraine. It's truly disheartening to see the extent of contamination and the long-term consequences it has on the land, water, and air. Your point about Hungary's decision to burn contaminated grain rather than sell it is a stark reminder of the difficult choices faced in such situations.

It's crucial for governments to not only talk about eco-friendly initiatives but to take concrete actions that reflect those values. Your insights are valuable, and I appreciate you sharing them.

Wishing you a thoughtful and impactful holiday season.

Why is it, Peter, that pretty much most of us know we are destroying our only home? Yet so few actually do anything about it or want to change their lives.
Your poem, in its simplicity. Highlights this vividly

Thank you, Tim for your thoughtful review and insightful question. It's indeed a perplexing issue that despite widespread awareness, many people struggle to make meaningful changes to protect our planet. Various factors contribute to this, including:

    - **Inertia:** Habitual behaviors are hard to change, especially when they are deeply ingrained in daily routines.
    - **Convenience:** Sustainable choices often require more effort, time, or expense, making it challenging for individuals to consistently adopt them.
    - **Perceived Impact:** Many feel that their individual actions are too small to make a difference, leading to a sense of helplessness.
    - **Economic and Social Systems:** Our current systems often prioritize short-term gains over long-term sustainability, making it difficult for individuals to go against the grain without structural support.

Consider the number of countries that have stockpiled vast amount of nuclear deterrents. Once they start to exchange those then it is game over.
Look at the number of conflicts around the world. God help us.

    Take care Tim (not Yim!)

Yes our planet is going through some difficult times and we are so reluctant to do what we have to do to reverse the decline - we just find it so difficult to change our ways

Your poem does highlight the sad plight that man finds himself in - and the only one he can blame is himself. Greed has just about destroyed the planet and it does
not look like there will be any changes forthcoming. Too sad.
