This is so good, but I can't give you all my extra stars. Lovely story that should be in a book with the rest of your short Christmas stories. Everyone one of them has been really good.

Don't worry about the stars. I appreciate the fact that you are always there to read and support me. Thank you so much.

Well told, Carol. I thought it wasn't really Santa but Eleanor dressed as Santa who came to counsel Darryl and set him on the right path. We never did that Santa thing but focused on the birth of the Savior.

i hoped that we could have a nice mixture of both...let the kids enjoy the season with their friends, yet make sure they understood the true reason for the season. For the most part, I think it worked out okay.

Beautiful story for Christmas! I'm glad you mentioned the real 'reason for the season' also. Nice touch, having a friend offer Darryl a job, and I'm glad Santa pointed out Darryl's selfishness in buying whiskey instead of gifts for his children. Blessings, and a merry Christmas! Carol

I've heard people say they can't buy anything for their kids because they don't have money, but they go out and bowl, buy Starbucks, new outfits for parties, etc. etc. I don't understand it.

This story warmed my heart. Sometimes I get caught up in stress about present buying. My son and his family live with us now. They are trying to save money to buy a house. I will spend Christmas with our daughters in Florida. Anyway, I say this to thank you for the wonderful story. There is no room for improvement. I hope all is well with you.

My apologies for being so late in answering. I have fallen behind (and I mean way behind) and I am struggling to catch up. I so appreciate your time and your comments on my story. The awesome stars humble me. Thank you so much for your kindness.

Cute, cute, cute!
My two little ones are just at the age where they are questioning the existence of Santa Claus. Sad, as they are my last two.
I do feel a little Santa fatigue after six kids.
Blessings.

I am looking forward to going to North Crolina to celebrate Christmas with my three great granddaughters (it's a surprise for them) and they are all growing up so fast and the magic of Christmas will disappear. Thanks so much, Doug.

Yes, I believe we all need to remember what the real reason for the season is about but we can also enjoy the magic of Santa too.

That is Christmas. Not drinking, or buying presents. I am a regifter. I always thank someone for there gift even if I think it is hideous. One time my aunt asked me where the sweater she made me is, and why wasn't I wearing one? I told her I had it on, and I saw an old lady shivering so I took it off and gave it to her. I knew you would approve.
That shut her up. I donated it to Goodwill. Cose enough don't you think? Karen

Can't be hurting an old lady's feelings so it worked for me. Quick thinking! Thanks for reading, enjoying and reviewing.

Thank you for sharing another beautiful Christmas story with us. Again, my heart was warmed by your writing. That's a very special talent and your short stories are perfect.

Thanks, Barbara... I've enjoyed writing the Christmas stories and getting my head out of real life... With the characters I can tell them what do do and they do it...Not so much in the real world. LOL

Carol!! Another wonderful Christmas story! By the time you have finished, everyone will believe! This family had their dreams come true, two children who never stopped believing, and their father, although he was wrapped up in grief, found himself talking to the man he didn't believe in, and everything came together. What a lovely story! I wish I had a bundle of gold stars, you'd get loads. Well done again, my clever friend. :)) Sandra xx

Your thoughts are worth far more to me than the gold stars. Though of course I appreciate them, knowing that you enjoy what I write is the perfect gift for me.
