I am so sorry I do not have that sixth star. This was the best writing of the day. I, too wonder why anyone (except for a laugh) would give me a second look, yet Christ loved me and proved it by His death and resurrection. Thank you for sharing this prayer.

Thank you, Jim. As always, your insightful reviews are worth more to me than any number of stars. I appreciate your comments, my Friend.

John,

I am not sure I could write a review that would do your writing justice. Let me just say it is absolutely beautiful, written by a man God is proud of. I can use all my six stars on your writing alone.

I had to sit and run your words through my head. You wrote with such meaning so people could experience the feelings you had while writing this.

As always, I am looking forward to your next post.

Richard, you are far too generous with your words and your stars. Believe me when I say, I am truly blessed by them both. Thank you, my Friend.

Isaiah 64:8:
"But now, O Lord, you are our Father; we are the clay, and you are our potter; we are all the work of your hand."

Hello John. It's been a minute since I've made it over to review you, although I always rejoice when I see your name in contest wins.

This is a beautiful piece, which brings special meaning to me today as last weekend we buried my aunt. She lived to be 90, and was a quiet unassuming woman.

Still her funeral was attended by over 80 people and we were all so pleased that each of us considered ourselves blessed to have known her, and each of us had a story of a simple act of faith she'd bestowed upon us throughout our lives.

She truly must have prayed as you've indicated in this powerful piece, John.

To each person who memorialized her, she'd been a vessel of charity, hope, encouragement, and love.

I'm sure Jesus was well pleased -- and this is a sign that she is resting well within his glorious realm.

Thank you, Karenina. I'm glad that you found a bit of solace in this writing during your time of loss. I don't hear grief in your words, but rather celebration.

Your Aunt sounds much like my Mother. We lost her suddenly on her 51st birthday. Like your Aunt, she was a giver, not a taker. She was forever an "unassuming" first grade schoolteacher who spread love to everyone she met.

Like your Aunt, at Mother's funeral, our little Methodist Church was packed. What we didn't realize until we were leaving the service is that as walk out the church entrance, there was a multitude of people who were standing outside to pay their respect. Even I, then a boy of only 13, was moved by the sight.

I think I would have really liked your Aunt.
