I loved how you summarized the opening paragraph of the Gospel of John in your 2-4-2 poem! It's wonderful how St. John connected back to Genesis 1 in his gospel, showing us that Jesus is the Word through Whom all was created. Best wishes in the contest!

This is a very good entry for the 2-4-2 Poetry competition. The image is a perfect illustration, nice presentation, and great message. So much can be conveyed in so few words. Nicely done!

A thought-provoking short poem for the contest. I've always contended that if matter collided in a 'big bang,' there had to be a Creator of the matter. It didn't just form itself. Great final line! Best wishes in the contest. Carol

What a powerful message in such a short poem, Don. It amazes me how you could have said so much so succinctly. I stand in awe and inspired. As a science teacher, I struggle teaching evolution, which I'm required to do. This interpretation is the best I've ever seen.

I enjoy your review the most, A science teacher that wants to put the truth out there. I think science and God's word are two (More so God's word) sides of the same coin. May God bless you and Wayne.

I agree completely!!! Most of my students do to. I leave the decision to them, but tell them if I'm presenting one theory, and I stress the word, theory, they are welcome to discuss what they feel. I live in the deep south and teach in a rural community, they will usually tell what they believe. This poem will be a great addition to the discussion.

This has often been my argument in the discussion of science versus God
I have no problem with a big bang fitting my vision of God.
He said, 'Let there be light'
Scientists say 'Big Bang'
Same thing, I just think that God's way of putting it is more eloquent.
