I thought you did just fine, Barbara. I've loved reading all these stories. Thanks for the mention! The twins are in a heap of trouble. You managed to bring in almost everyone on the site, some I've not even heard of. I must come on more. Well done, my friend. I thought it was a great story. :)) Sandra xx

I'm scared I might have missed someone and hurt their feeling. Thank you for the kind review.

your version of the party actually very much describes how I picture you as being I picture you as being much like myself in as much as you don't want to be there one in the spotlight. So I'm sure that you found me sitting in the corner someplace counting on my fingers the syllables for a new poem. Patricia

I am the same about social situations, especially the high-glam ones, so my post also reflected that! Seems there are a few wallflowers amongst us! Thanks for thinking of Sunny. The travel time of 27 hours would be too much for him to be in a crate in the cargo area of a plane. But I had to do a video call with him so he would eat his dinner - he was so worried about me being away from him! Well done with your post. A fun read!

I know Sunny would be worried about you. Thank you for the kind review.
Comment from Pam Lonsdale
It sounds like you and I have something in common: we watch the party from afar first, get the lay of the land, then venture in. My personality is such that I'm the life of the party if I know everyone there, but a shy little wallflower if I do not.
Wouldn't it be nice if we could all get together for a few days and really pick each others' brains? I would love that.
Thanks for your offering to this on-going story.

I've started a story/poem, but I'm not mouth of a prose or fiction writer, my typing is so slooow, really I'm a very recent writer in essence, i was a longtime sportsman, but then, that's another story, you might like to do some revision Barbara, there are a few typos, bless you for giving it a whirl, well done, blessings Roy

I simply wrote it and edited it once. My novels I edit repeatedly for months. I didn't have time to edit this one. LOL I appreciate the kind review.

Of course you do, well done

Oh, I'm glad to meet another introvert who doesn't like big parties! I think you and I would hang out together in a gala like this!
Some suggestions:
"Sorry, I need to visit with Lynechka. (Lyenochka) You got it right later.
if Judiverse is planning and crime for my Beth (a crime for my Bertha)
Pam Lonsdale and Roy Own. (Owen)
Robert Zimmerman and NewoNewman. (NeoNewman)
Rick My World and Jim Vecchino. (RicMyWorld and Jim Vecchio)

Great post Barbara. After raiding four boys, bring a military wife, writing Manon many novels and getting them published, your each? No way.
I'm Glad you got to meet all the writers after all.
Excellent,
John

LOl I'm honestly shy in large crowds. I'm silent. One on one is a different story. Thank you for the kind review.
Comment from Rachelle Allen
Ohhh, Barbara! This is absolutely DELIGHTFUL!! Because soo many writers are very VERY shy people. (Okay, don't tell anyone, but I'm actually a total dud at parties, myself. I honest-to-gawd stay in one spot and do not move the entire night...and it is NOT in the middle of the room. It's exactly like you: somewhere off the main course, and usually on a couch.) So that's why this chapter by you is so extremely appealing. You voiced every Little Voice I have, myself. Always noticing every last little detail, and THINKING to go over and meet people, but not actually doing it.
So I admire your bravery for making yourself mingle here.
Btw, the Romper Room Magic Mirror schtick? HILARIOUS!!! Soooo totally hilarious!! "What friends can I see here today?" Omigoodness! The memories you evoked with THAT treasure!!! HAHAHAHAHAHAHA!! I have news for you, my dear, you muse is SOOOO not sleeping. She served you very, very well here. I absolutely love this chapter.
Thank you for contributing and for warming up my entire night with your talents. This is a perfect chapter. I regret I have no more sixes left.xoxoxo

You're way to sweet. I honestly wasn't too pleased with what I came up with, but you warmed my heart. Thank you.
Comment from Debbie D'Arcy
I like the way you convey the very real concern we all have here safely tucked away behind our computers and protected from the realities of meeting face to face. To be suddenly immersed with these food throwing, worst for wear members in a room from which the only escape is under the table (like the very sensible Gretchen) is possibly akin to a bit of a nightmare:)) Well done, Barbara. I enjoyed. Debbie
