A great Halloween story!
I like the ending.. creepy.
The only thing I would change is Layla's reflection (appeared ) in the mirror. It makes it sound more imminent.

It's interesting observe in many venues gay people relate to Spirits. I don't know if it's for drama i feel really is important to approach them that way.
A haunting creepy song but i like how where I Used to work it was an 1800s mental Hospital there were many many spirits there you know. One of the security guys took me around to all the spots that were haunted oh my gosh I can feel them all over my body is like I could hear them screaming. It was exciting.

I would feel a nudge on my elbow and say is there someone there and I could hear yes. I said do you want to go toward the light. After they say they do then I send them toward the light. That's it. not very non-dramatic.

I think whatever was there grabbed Layla from outside ...Leaving Abby to explain. That's what happens when you crash someone's party...esp[ecially at Halloween. LOL
