I really liked reading this poem. It brought back memories of reading a play about Andersonville in high school. I only had one suggestion; change 'incorruptible' to 'incorrigible.' If I read it right, Rose didn't like the young man at first sight, but he sure grew on her later.

This is very well written and it was a joy to listen to. I wish you the very best for the day and I wish you a very good evening. May God bless you and keep you safe. I enjoyed and do enjoy your work. Patricia.

War is a tragedy in itself but then imprisoning wounded men in such despicable environment is more than insult on insult. Your poem described those horrible settings perfectly and left the reader humming the Yellow Rose of Texas.
Smiles, Carol

I read the book and visited the site, as well.
It was perfectly hideous, the way the prisoners were treated.
And only one man was convicted and hung.
And then many who survived were killed in a steamboat explosion on the Mississippi River.
Here I was, broken form my state of Tennessee - (from?)
Best wishes.

Actually I googled Andersonville and that prison came up, obviously a place of infamy, certainly to the union soldiers harboured there all those years ago, it certainly would have been the most undesirable place of residence, beautifully written Jim, well done, blessings Roy
