I chuckled when I read this, Barbara. I also wondered if you couldn't have grilled him for dinner.

Thanks for sharing this entertaining story that can only come with family life.

P.S. We underestimate our children:-)

I honestly never expected a longhorn in my front yard. Thank you for the kind review.

You have me curious as to how that Longhorn is going to fit in with your next post. Probably lots of people wouldn't know a cow from a steer. I would definitely be in favor of fences. They don't have cowpokes out herding the cattle anymore. I can relate to the situation, as my dad's cows would sometimes wander onto someone else's property. It's funny your son was so insistent it was a Longhorn, and you kept telling him it was a deer. I couldn't understand the police response. If they didn't do steers, they surely could have directed your husband to a department that did. Anyway, it was out of your yard. Maybe the rustlers got it! This is a great anecdote. judi

You're welcome. I can understand why you found it hard to believe there was a longhorn in your yard. judi

Haha! Quite a beauty! And this teaches us not to think we always know better than our children:)) I'm not sure what a steer looks like so I'm certainly not questioning the image. I'm so pleased he found his way back though. Nice, refreshing story! Thank you, Barbara. Take care Debbie

My oldest came running in the house when he was a teenager screaming that there was a mountain lion on the hood of my car. After checking it out it was a Maine Coon cat. Slightly larger than the average house cat, but no where near the size of a mountain lion. He still refused to go back out . Lol. This was a very entertaining story. Gretchen

That was a delightful story, Barbara. Your son was right after all. Bless his heart. That you didn't believe him must have made you have second thoughts when you thought him to be wrong after that!! LOL Loved this. Well done, my friend. :) Sandra xxx

I will be catching up with your novel now, I've been back in the hospital, my asthma has been way out of control, and I've been feeling rather down lately. I have been catching up with some already, and it will be lovely to binge read your chapters. xxx

I wonder how many times a mother has thought their child was losing it because he couldn't tell the difference between something...like deer antlers and longhorns? It's natural, but they love it when they prove us wrong. Good story, Barbara. Thanks for sharing!

Thank you for sharing this short story with us Joy very much this do it. I am pleased that your son recognized the Longhorn steer from that of the antlers of a deer. May you have a wonderful day and a very good weekend and may God bless you. Patricia
