Thanks for taking me back to a time when anyone who worked could afford about whatever they wanted to buy. Today, I'm seeing people working two and tree jobs and still can't afford a house. Who could have ever imagined that even a small home would sell for half a million dollars or more. Thanks for sharing.

Thank you, Ric, our money went a lot a further back then. I didn't spend a lot because there wasn't a lot I wanted, and I liked having the money in case I did want something. Most of it was gone before my honeymoon though. My husband didn't have a lot saved back.

Beth, I truly thought this story was going to go another way, if you know what I mean. I should have known you would kick, scream, cry, bite, and whatever it took to make this jerk leave you alone. It sounds as though he had some mild mental illness.
Do you know what ended up happening to him? Or is that for another chapter?

Thank you, Pam, He stayed married and stayed married to the same lady and died at 72 of heart disease. She was a little crazy as well so they deserved each other. I saw them at my mother's funerial. He died not long after. I feel like he raped his cousin who had a baby and died in a mental institution, but I don't for sure that is where the came from.

That must've been horrific for you to go through, Beth, he really does sound like a nasty individual and like you, I feel sorry for whoever he married, I can't imagine they've had a happy life together. A well written piece.

Thank you, Carol. Mom was always warning me about men but it didn't seem to apply to her brothers or the neighbors.

Thank you, Dolly, that was the way it seemed me too. I was thankful to get away from him. I don't think he expected me to fight and yell like I did.

Excellent story, Beth. I was in high school when Korea got uner way. I later turned 17 and joind the Army and spent most of my time in Germany. Glad that guy never bothered you again. Sounds like a knucklehead to me.

Thank you, Wayne. My mom didn't seem to think a neighbor we'd always know would hurt me. She knew I didn't like being around him and for some reason she felt bad that I didn't want to be friendly with the neighbors. At least she never insisted I go anywhere with him again.

Thank you, Marilyn, Those 3D glasses were amazing but who did they have to show movies to scare us so bad. I enjoy the Imax movies, but they show nature and interesting things.
