I really hope Naomi survives, I could feel how special she is to Angelo. This was a really intense, well told chapter. You maintain the tension really well and I was definitely kept gripped. Another excellent chapter. I can't wait for the next one.

Thanks Jaco...I've been asked to slow the pace a bit so the next chapters will be reflection on the past and also some humor, but then we'll ramp up the crime scene once again. I appreciate the review and your comments.

Well, Carol. Another masterpiece I see. Is this a chapter for a whole book that you are doing? It should be. This would be a great book if you put it all together. It really kept me interested. Thanks for sharing.

It is a novel I am writing, Harry. It started with a prologue and has 13 chapters so far. Most of the characters are from the book "Unfinished Brushstrokes" that I wrote prior to this one. I hope you will continue to follow and enjoy.

Oh, I see. I guess I got in too late for the beginning Lol! It sounds like a great book!

It's never too late, Harry. There's a lot more to unfold. Right now it's a pageant with murders and accidents happening throughout the years. And they are discovering it has sometehing to do with research papers, but the experts haven't put the pieces together yet. There's plenty more to happen.

This is an excellent chapter that essentially slows things down a bit. Apart from the initial trashing of the apartment and the attack on naomi it is reflective, a welcome break from the high-paced scenario. Much enjoyed, kay

Thank goodness Angelo got there in time. At least, at least I hope he has. Now Eleanor is going to help things will start moving. I wish she would come here and make my breakfast! Lol. There is still lots to sort out before Naomi is safe, but I'm sure Angelo will do the best he can for her. Love is a powerful thing. The story is moving along nicely, my clever friend. Well done, and bring on the next part! Love you lots. Sandra xxxxx

Good morning, Sandra. Naomi is teetering on the edge, but hopefully she will survive. We are about to bring in a few old friends who also have a lot of baggage to deal with. Some thought we needed a little breathing time before the action pumped up again. I think the faithful followers will love the next few chapters...or at least I hope so. Thank you as always.

Well, Angelo to the rescue! There are some coincidences here which probably would not happen in real life eg a doctor friend, who is both available and has both a secluded cottage plus a supply of blood - but let's suspend disbelief. After all there are helpful ghosts who can produce food at the snap of a finger. It remains an exciting and dranatic story, and anenjoyable read. Well done.

the secluded cabin belongs to Angelo's dad but the two men shared it as fishing buddies after being in the military together. And Angelo told him how bad Naomi was so the good doctor, familiar with improvising on the battle field, knew what to bring. And Eleanor...well, she's a special lady.
Thanks so much for the review and comments.

Hooray for Eleanor who's always ready to come to the rescue and comes with motherly care to feed the one in distress! It's good that Angelo came exactly when he did and has a doctor friend he can trust!

Yes, this author can wait till the last second, but she just can't let it be too late. LOL And Eleanor...she's a very special lady... a crime fighter with a heart.

I just finished your chapter and it completely drew me in! The tension made every moment feel so real. Your ability to craft such an engaging and suspenseful story is truly impressive. I was on the edge of my seat the entire time, and I can't wait to see what happens next!

Thank you so much, Michael. I've been asked to slow the pace a little so the next few chapters will be a bit of reflection of the past by a few characters before they dive back into chasing the criminals. I hope you enjoy.

Hmm, a well written chapter. I would look at the usage of the word: had, to check if it is really needed, or redundant in many instances. Also, I would have Angelo, check her injuries before, deciding against the hospital, after that, things get a bit stretched with the doctor, and blood in the frig.

I have a bad habit of using "had" and I try to watch it, but you know how habits are. Thanks for pointing it out. Angelo knew that if he went to a hospital either Jose or the police would get to Naomi and neither was a good choice. As for the blood and the doctor... He was a military doctor on the battlefield with Angelo's dad so I thought he might come more prepared than most considering he knew what to expect. Thanks for the comments and suggestions.

Very good. It looks like Naomi is going to make it. I get chills thinging about a knife twisting in her body. I'm glad Angelo was there to rescue her. Eleanor was there when he needed her as well. I look forware to more.

I think the next few chapters might be a little slower as a few characters take time to reflect on the past before diving into some more crime fighting. I hope you enjoy them.
