Wow! We don't have anything like that, although they have cyclonic conditions in the Eastern states from time to time, but nothing like tornadoes, and of course we've had bushfires that take lives and property, you might call wildfires, beautifully written Beth, blessings Roy

Wow Beth, that was pretty raw! I can't imagine what it be like to have the house I was in the totally gone and me sitting on the board. Your storytelling is excellent and the contact is both relatable and aw inspiring. So sorry for your experience but so grateful for your telling your story. I remember when I lived in Laurel Mississippi and a devastating tornado came through and ripped up a lot of stuff.

Thank you so much for the review and comment. Tornado hit all parts of Mississippi. I'm very familiar with Laurel. I had a aunt that lived there and when we lived in New Orleans we also drove through there going home to visit my parents. My kids went to school in Lumberton when is near Laurel.

You're welcome. I pastored a church in Laurel for one year before it closed. July 1992 through July 1993. It seemed very very closed to me and I was considered an outsider. It was, most definitely the most significant year in my life however.

That is too bad. I'm shocked that church going people wouldn't welcome their pastor, but I've seen some pretty awful things go on in church. They're not all saints.

I must say that God used Mississippi in an incredible way and he showed himself strong in ways that I probably wouldn't believe if they hadn't happened to me. I have no complaints.

Another time I wished for a six! This was absolutely great storytelling. God truly blessed and protected you and your family. I watch Oriental sci-fi and thriller movies online sometime. If you like "Twister"-type movies, there is a Chinese film, English title "Super Cyclone", which is worth seeing and has some great characters.

Another time I wished for a six! This was absolutely great storytelling. God truly blessed and protected you and your family. I watch Oriental sci-fi and thriller movies online sometime. If you like "Twister"-type movies, there is a Chinese film, English title "Super Cyclone", which is worth seeing and has some great characters.

Thank you Jim. I'm glad you like this. I cyclone is another name from hurricane according the the internet but I've heard some called tornado that.

I do remember reading about the tornado before but it doesn't detract from the horrors you express here. And actually being picked up like that after you'd be talking about wanting a ride in the sky. Spooky! It's interesting that you don't remember feeling any shock. Possibly because your mind couldn't take in what was happening. Had there been another tornado later in your life, you might well have suffered shock because your brain would have been fed with all these images and be in some kind of anticipatory survival mode (if any of this makes sense). But what an experience for your family! Thank you for sharing this vivid account. Take care Debbie

I do remember reading about the tornado before but it doesn't detract from the horrors you express here. And actually being picked up like that after you'd be talking about wanting a ride in the sky. Spooky! It's interesting that you don't remember feeling any shock. Possibly because your mind couldn't take in what was happening. Had there been another tornado later in your life, you might well have suffered shock because your brain would have been fed with all these images and be in some kind of anticipatory survival mode (if any of this makes sense). Tahnk you again for another review on my Tornado story. Everyone of them is a little different I thing although the what happened is the same but sometime I add other details. It may be the most dramatic that ever happened to me.

Thank you Wayne. It took more than that spot in the house to keep us safe. From then on when there was a storm at night we endied up in grandparents storm pit.

I've been in the squalls of a hurricane and on the fringe of two tornadoes.... I don't remember fear either, but I definitely remember praying. I can't imagine being in your situation...being tossed through the air. Very well written.

Thank you Carol. Weather can often give you a cause to pray. I've been in hurricane too when I lived in New Orleans. They just seem to go on forever but the tornados pass quickly. Both can be very dangerous.

While we were living at Fort Campbell numerous tornados went through. I get very nervous when severe storms are around. We were lucky there. They only came within yards of us. Thank you for sharing this memoir.

Thank you Barbara. I've been through some in Chattanooga that knocked down trees, a fence a damaged the roof. I went a hurricane in New Orleans but not a real bad one.
