I have to admit, I was surprised to hear about the relationship between Huck's mom and Miss Lynn. It wasn't what I was expecting. It looks like the time has come for Matthew to pay the piper. You've left us hanging gal, hopefully not for too long. Well done.

Huck is one brave young man to stand up yo Matthew. He deserves a thousands more beat downs for harming a child. Sicko. This story is getting more interesting by the day. I hope the mama, Dewy, and Huck find peace and happiness without Matthew. Excellent job.

I commend you for breaking this up into two because there are a lot of people myself included that when things are way too long we just skip it. I think I am one of the few poets that review novels and stories and I'm willing to do that even even for things that are pretty long, but not abominably long
This was just the right size. I'm guessing that Dewey and Huck are going to kill their father. But what I don't know is whether Dewey
was digging a grave when he was pounding the rock. But, I think not
I was a physically and emotionally abused child and so were four of my other siblings. The last four kids were not really abused because my mother had remarried and was happy. But then her husband had an affair and she regressed I remember how disappointed my sister was who had had no abuse growing up, but then my mother started heaping verbal abuse on her and she just stopped seeing her.
My oldest sister, when she left the house, never spoke to my mother again and 35 years later my mother was dead
I was the only one who actually forgave my mother because I believe she was mentally ill and could not help herself. When she was stressed, that's when she abused people.
But I do remember one day when I was 14 years old and she had just abused me and I had just witnessed her abusing my brother that I went and got a knife from the kitchen, intending to kill her, but I just couldn't pull the plug. I actually thought I would be protecting my siblings if I had succeeded inkilling her
I know how Dewey and Huck felt. I think the only problem is besides being arrested, maybe is that the father was probably the breadwinner and was bringing home the paycheck and now that he's dead the mother's going to have a hard time financially

Interesting. I know it happens in comics a great deal and in movies, but in an actual fight or attack, men stop talking. It's actually difficult to speak when you're in the heat of the moment or battle. It may be more realistic to trim it down.
