This was excellent with all the metaphors and personifications throughout which have nothing whatever to do with these forces of nature, except as how they mirror human experiences (or vice versa). GREAT tanka! Very exciting and erotic. xoxo

I could see the movement of the water as the impatient stream or river hurried to join the calmer and larger body of water. It made me think about youth and how impatient we are to get out into the world. This was a stunning and clever poem. Gretchen

i like the 'r' alliteration in the first two lines
i think it made the unite line stand out more
nice imagery and smooth flow throughout...
thank you for sharing!

Hi, Gypsy
There was a time on here where I exclusively wrote, tankas and haikus
That was about five years ago. So you're writing a book of them, huh?
Tell me something are you responsible for creating the layout and creating the manuscript yourself?
This Tonka is beautiful. Wind of change has been said many times so it's a little bit trite
But it's still beautiful. A critic once told me to not use a famous expressions and poetry because she thought they were trite. Who cares about that. F that to the winds. I still do it. Sometimes it's accidental, and sometimes it's deliberate
I enjoyed reading your poem
Good job. Thank you for sharing.

This tanka, The Winds of Change, has the proper formatting and finds the power pushing through the obstructive geography until it reaches the open and peaceful sea.

The seas and winds are always a marvellous metaphor for the storms of life that beset us in our sometimes turbulent lives. This is a very well written poem my friend, great alliteration in the first line, well dine, blessings Roy
