Oh my gosh, this is a beautiful poem!! It reads like a poem, flowing like water... and tells a spiritual story. It asks the question that many of us have asked. It's always hard to understand God, but your words let me know that I am not alone in my lack of understanding God's time line. My favorite line is the last line... That is such a profound and brilliant thought. Why didn't I think of that?! :)
Excellent poem!

Thank you, Bunny. I've finally come to realize that His ways are higher than our ways, and His thoughts are higher than ours. We'll never completely understand why God does certain things,,,we're not supposed to. That why He's God. Everything is according to His plan, and everything will work out for our good. The last line is my favorite too, It's the most important line in the poem. Thank you so much for your sweet comments and especially the sixth star.

You're so right, Roy. We all struggle, but it all boils down to faith...faith that, why we don't always understand, God's answers to our prayers are perfect and on time. God bless, my friend. John

This is a wonderful poem and artwork for the contest Faith Poetry. Isn't it marvelous that regardless of "our" impatience, God will wait forever for us to finally realize what his plan is for us. Very nicely written.

Aw, this is s wonderful poem on the fruits of The Spirit. We need them all, every minute of every day. The most important in God's kingdom and life giving. Beautiful offering in rhyming verse, my friend.
Sending you my best today as always and a (virtual) six ******starfish from the sea.

This reminded me of when I prayed for aq Christian wife. I took three Biblical passages and prayed throughout the day for her. It seemed to take forever. But when He finally led me to her, it was worth the wait and I found I was finally ready.

I should have tried that, Jim. I accidentally met my wife in a bank we were examining, and five months later we were wed. And it wasn't even a shotgun wedding. I'm not sure it's going to work out though. We've only been together for forty-eight years.

Your poem God Waits for Me is a profound and heartfelt reflection on faith, patience, and spiritual growth. The way you explore the theme of divine timing versus human impatience is both relatable and comforting.
The opening lines set a contemplative tone, effectively capturing the feeling of waiting for spiritual guidance. Your question, "Does His silence mean He doesn't care?" resonates deeply, reflecting a common struggle in the journey of faith.
I particularly admire how you use metaphors like "He is the gard'ner of my soul" and "A ripened fruit, that is His goal" to illustrate the nurturing aspect of divine influence. These images convey a sense of growth and purpose, emphasizing the gradual nature of spiritual development.
The concluding lines, "It's not that I wait for Him, you see. / It's that He patiently waits for me," offer a powerful and reassuring perspective, highlighting the theme of mutual patience and divine understanding.
For enhancement, consider smoothing out the rhythm in a few places to maintain a consistent flow. Additionally, varying the rhyme scheme slightly might add a fresh dynamic to the poem. Overall, God Waits for Me is a beautifully written piece that offers solace and insight, capturing the essence of a patient and loving relationship with the divine. Great job!

It's a marvelous thing that God is a very patient God with us and he waits for us. He doesn't want any of us to perish, and so therefore, he will make himself known to us on a daily basis if we will just listen. Patricia.

Hi John,
What a beautiful poem of faith. It is well written and inspiring. I love the artwork, it does a great job of drawing us into your message.
In the first stanza, you talk about wondering why we have to wait to see God's answers to our prayers right away. It's a common worry. Why doesn't God just send us an immediate message so we have no doubts what he wants?
Second stanza: A further wondering about God's timing on our answers. I like the part about feeling we should be the ones to set the time on His answers. I like that reminder that it's His timing, not ours.
Third stanza: There's a self reassurance that God does have a plan and that, while we may get tired of waiting for an answer, He does not.
Fourth stanza: There is a comparison of God to a gardener and how filling His bowl takes time.
Last stanza: A reminder that while we feel our prayer just plain missed the mark, we can be assured that God is in control, and patiently waiting for us to do something we need to do.
Thanks for sharing, and best of luck in the competition!
Take care,
Rhonda
