I feel your pain. I think a legitimate corollary would include a prohibition of the obfuscation of the truth, false narratives, lies, and spreading bad information as if it were true. Just sayin'. Thanks for sharing it. Good luck and stay well.

Thank you so much for reading and reviewing and the five beautiful stars you gave me.
I think you?re on to something, let?s, you and me, go after the obfuscation angle. You write the law and I will be a cosigner. L O L.

You're very welcome. Fifty years younger and I'd take you up on that suggestion. Now, I just like writing stories and sharing them with friends and fellow writers. Have a wonderful day and stay well.

All right, I hear ya. I'm 69 myself. I guess we'll just sit home and write!

If we had emojis on these replies, I'd give you a big thumbs up.

I like the humoristic way you have handled the prompt, "There ought to be a Law". I hope to try it out one of these days. =)
I sincerely hope you are right in assuming the Supreme Court shall seize upon this opportunity to rule this law both constitutional and irrevocable. Last thing I would like to do is to rub their backs.
Well written. Best for the contest. I am giving you 6-stars for creativity.

Thank you so very very much for reading and rating: "The Law of First Telling." I thank you also for the interaction that tells me you appreciate humor in something like this. I appreciate so much the six stars that you gave me. I know those are precious and you honor me.

I really enjoyed reading this and yes hearing about things so late in the game is so frustrating and it just feels like things are hidden sometimes! Especially when everyone around you seems to know. Thank you for sharing <3

I thought there was a nice little sarcastic humor to the narration here, as you get all these frustrations off of your chest. And bringing in the recent Supreme Court ruling seems to cast a wider net in our society; this is not just about being frustrated with seeming to be left out of the loop, but also about not being able to control political events. Well, it is maddening. estory

A good entry for this contest. I liked the reasoning behind the want to be law and I am in total agreement. Thanks for sharing and all the best for the contest.
Take care

I wish there really were such a rule (or law). I am never the last to know, but I'm frequently next-to-last. :) Thank you so much for sharing, and best wishes to you.

In my family I think everyone assumes I know but frequently I am the: "Last to know".
Thank you so very much for taking the time to read, rate, and give me those six beautiful stars they are so appreciated.

Thank you for sharing this writing prompt entry with us. With our present-day news media, we have no clue what's actually going on anyway, but I do agree with you.

Thank you so very very much for your taking the time to both read and review my law that is going before the Supreme Court. L.O.L.
I am not as smart as you had hoped I would be. You put something on the end of the review that has confused me. (I'm sure it wouldn't confuse others.)
"All cherished ,consequential, communication, (cherished, consequential,)"

The comma needs to be closer to 'cherished,'
-
Duh!!!!!! Sometimes I am so dense!!!!
Thank you so very much for kindly enlightening me.
You clearly showed me and I clearly missed it.
You kindly told me and I did get it.
It has been fixed. Thank you my friend.

Not a problem. I do the very same thing.

I like your style here and the way you've attempted to put this recommendation into legal speak. It's conveyed powerfully and with passion. The only omission, in my view, to add a bit more colour, is a concrete example. I found myself looking forward to this but it never came. Some great alliteration and originality which I enjoyed. Good luck! Debbie

Hey Debbie, I very much appreciate your review and interaction with me. Those five beautiful stars came in handy as well lol. I hear what you say and I agree with you concerning my omission. I have been away from my computer for some time and the booth has closed for the contest I think it's a little late to put it in now. I'm with you though, it would've been stronger if I had done what you kindly invited me to do. Thanks

Oh, been there, done that! It usually works like this:
-So, I'll see you at the party noon tomorrow.
-What are you talking about? It's a dinner party.
-Oh, didn't they tell you? They switched it to lunch.
-But, but, but ...
I hate being the last to know, especially when everyone else thinks I already do. As you suggest, there oughta be a law--and I'd be happy to press charges. I like your sense of humor and, especially, that it's expressed in the "seriousness" with which you discuss these legal actions. Good luck in the contest.

Thank you so very much Michelle for reading, reviewing and relating with: "The Law of First Telling." My favorite reviews are the ones that pick up a concept and run with it. You did that for me! Thank you very much. You get it. We writers write to stir up thoughts and make an impact.

You're very welcome. I love the idea that "We writers write to stir up thoughts and make an impact." I couldn't have said it better myself.

Blessings, my friend.

I agree with your point - I think. I had some confusion over whether the recipient was not getting communications which they should have been the first to receive. I think that's right, but as the reader I should have been first to receive the message. A couple of glitches: "...I have been entitled it," "the recipients physical pleasure of choice" (needs an apostrophe).
I wasn't sure whether the occasional capital letters on Communication and Undeniable were intentional.
Good luck in the contest!

Hey Sharon, when I first saw four stars and "good" I was extremely disappointed. (It's an ego thing lol) I went back and reread the entry and I was kind of appalled at a number of things I found. In addition to the areas you pointed out, which have been corrected by the way, I encountered other capitalization issues. I tried to clean them up.
I'm sure you want to hear an excuse.
You do wanna hear an excuse, don't you? I thought so, here goes.
I was in too big of a hurry to submit this entry for the contest, knowing that it was Sunday and everybody had all their six stars for the week. (I was hoping to get some.)
My review count has been lower than what I had anticipated and you help me to see why. On this site, shoddy workmanship is seldom rewarded. That brings me back to my four-star rating. I don't know if you know this, but once you have submitted a rating you may go back and change it. I'm not sure if you can lower the rating but you can raise it as high as five stars. You can't rewrite a submission with six stars.
I'm certainly not telling you what to do and frankly no I'm not even asking you to go back and give me five stars, I am just making you aware of that option.
I just want to thank you for the four beautiful stars you gave me and the information that compelled me to go back and improve my work. It really was not up to my standards before.
-
Oh, I see what you mean. I didn't know you can change a rating, but I'll go back and try to figure out how.
-
I have done it in the past and I?m quite sure all I did is go back to where I wrote and just change the stars from 4 to 5 or whatever. Like I said, I?m quite sure I couldn?t say I?m gonna change it from a four to a six but I could change to a five. FYI, thanks
