This is a beautiful tribute, my friend. I know it's hard to say goodbye. I've seen my grandfather struggle with my grandmother's passing, regardless of how many years go by. A spouse fills so many roles and influences one's life more than we realize. I think you should continue to write her letters. The relationship hasn't ended for sure, it might just be long distance. All the best, Erika

I try to read everything you post, but disappointedly, I'm been out of town for a few weeks and fallen so far behind that it's impossible to catch up. But it's good to be back. Thanks for sharing.

Ooh, this is so sad and sweet. I like the wordplay you used in the first verse, particularly, seamlessly integrating three seasons. The second verse brings in the pathos, and the third the honesty and self-deprecation that makes every reader root for you. Even though I know this is fictional, I still find myself hoping she'll come back to you, even for a moment. That's powerful writing!

I like your poem very much. It's wistful and sad and expresses very well that hopeful time of a new relationship and the feeling of loss when it doesn't work out.
Well done!

One can only hope - old or young, we're all fools when it comes to love. Some never taste it. Fleeting though these moments may be, you still have memories. All the more golden when it's in autumn...

Jim, this a poignant write of "loved and lost." Heart-wrenching professed
longings and bittersweet confession/promised and kept, but so far to no
avail...Those who've been there, know this feeling well...Those who have not, pray that you won't/don't! The audio doubled down on the implications.

I love that song, Sealed with a Kiss. Your poem was full of the strong emotions. Love, sadness, even the worry of not being as important as she was to you. The questions of will she remember me, show vulnerability. Well done. Gretchen

Some times saying good bye is hard, but may be necessary for eventual healing. Thanks, dear Jim for sharing your free style poem. I did enjoy the reading it. Well done.

Well done, Jim. This is a very moving FreeVerse and you have all of us hoping your main character will find love in the Autumn :). I enjoyed reading it.
