Hi, Brenda

This looks like a good entry for the contest. Good luck with that!!

This is beautiful, Brenda. I like your apple tree from here. I wish you could've posted a photo of the apple planter.

Now the apple tree hosts a garden. So it is serving another purpose, but it is not dead. Cant Say if the original purpose was any more beautiful than the one it has now

I really enjoyed your poem

Good job. Thank you for sharing.

Everything had a purpose until it doesn't. Well done piece of poetry.

Everything grows from the ground up:
Now, beautiful flowers grow from your roots

Fun!

There's a scripture in the Old Testament about the stump of Jesse, a dead tree stump, and out of the stump comes a flower of hope, which, course, speaks of Jesus, whose ancestor, Jesse, was the father of King David, Jesus was also described as the Son of David, at least on Mary's side. Beautifully written Brenda, a wonderful reminder, that life is an extension of that continuum, blessings Roy

Isn't that just beautiful. The tree gets to still stand in splendour and beauty upside down! What a lovely poem, trees are amazing, I love to listen to their tune on a windy day. I love how you used old old tree throughout, it was like you had personal relationship with the tree and it was a fond name for it. Well done

Wow, thank you so much for the picture, the narrative, and the authors notes. To be honest when I looked at the tree I didn't notice that it was the roots that were up in the air. L O L You have reminded us graciously and beautifully that, not everything is as it seems, and not everything that was once beautiful is still beautiful. Also, not everything that was destroyed is useless. You have given us the gift of repurposing our stuff and ourselves.
