This is so cute!!!! I love old people. Some people function really well in old age. My great grandma drove in town into her early 90's. And she lived in her own house until her late 90s. Great job, I really enjoyed it

Yes, I had someone in my life like your 3rd cousin, Grace.This is fun though because we love them and appreciate independence. On the other hand, we want them, and others, safe. It was rough when my relative had to give up her car keys. We had the doctor tell her and that helped.
My neighbor across the street died this spring. He was 96. He had been been driving until the day his car backed into our ditch, at 94, and was stuck there. He had macular degeneration and was blind in one eye yet still drove. It took that to make him give up his car keys but we we glad no one was hurt except for the Cadillac. And ... our front yard.... But no biggie when we're talking about life.
I gave up my car at 54, the day my eyesight started leaving. I couldn't even make it to work and had to pull off the interstate and call for help. I never drove again.

thanks, Sally. Actually, this is pure fiction and it was fun to write. As I am nearing Grace's age I can empathize with her.
I need to get somebody to take a current picture of me. My posted one is probably 10 or so years old.

You're so cute! I love, "Go Grace". Well, to tell you the truth, She is total fiction, or rather part fiction, part me. I am getting "up there," and plan to still be driving in the future! Maybe I need a dog to let me know if I'm getting too close to somebody :)
Do you play Sudoku online? I spend way too much time playing, but I rationalize that it's keeping my mind sharp. (as much as possible:)

I was looking for a picture to go with it and when I saw this one, I loved it and had to add to the poem :)
I love online Sudoku - and sure you could do it. It keeps the old noggin functioning and is fun. You ought to try it. I'm not familiar with Cryptoquotes. Will have to check it out. Cryptoquotes.com?

You're very welcome. I'm sure we both know people who are like Grace. They don't let age become an issues. I work the Cryptoquotes from my newspaper. There is a quotation in a code in which one letter stands for another. You have to guess the quotation by figuring out what the letters stand for. I've not seen them on the internet. judi

I must tell you that this was pure fiction. I saw the picture, which I love, and my imagination took care of the rest. But the fun thing is those who've read this have talked about elderly relatives, or the readers, themselves, who can empathize with Grace. I have to tell you it is all fiction. And as for the picture, I found it after I'd finished the poem, and just had to use it, so I had to add a bit to the story. Anyway, many thanks for your great comments and for the lovely 6!!!!
