Your poem disproves your first line.
Excellent poem for an average poet, with smooth meter
and consistent rhyme scheme. I like the line:
"warming frosty fingers
so my muse will thaw"
I guess you're either an excellent average poet
or an average excellent poet.
Even the dolphin agree.
