With luck he still had a copy on his computer:-) I can just imagine this one as one of those TV skits. If played straight it would be very funny. Lit lunes are probably quite common, but most of us don't murder our manuscripts... Kill your darlings?

LOL - I guess I was in a bad spot this morning and this is what my muse (always blame it on the muse) tossed out and I went with it. I'm in a better place now and piecing the pages back together. LOL Thank you so much!

This story, Murder of a Manuscript, has the proper word count and creates a frantic scene of misunderstanding that, if nothing else, should blow open a lot of writing ideas for the novelist.

Sounds good to me! Any extra help my tired muse can get is greatly appreciated so hopefully our brains should be overflowing. Have a great day!

This brief one hundred word story is both humorous and creative. All writers should be able to relate to Jake's disappointment and eventual optimism. Best wishes in the contest. Hopefully you win.

Thanks so much, Lorraine for your positive thoughts but I won't hold my breath on either this one or any other lately. But I enjoy writing and I really enjoy when others find pleasure in reading what I wrote so all is well. It was just a rant ...one of those bad mornings... nothing else.

Police Officers burst into Jake's home, guns drawn. Instead of a crazed maniac, they found shredded pages and a disgruntled writer.

Good job of imagery I can visually see this happening. I can also picture someone doing it in real life out of sheer frustration.

Just one of those moments in the wee hours of morning...sometimes you just have to rant and get it out of your system. Thanks for reading and seeing the humor.
    Have a great day!

This 100 word story was so funny and entertaining! Sometimes it feels frustrating when you think you've written something worthwhile and it doesn't get recognition. I loved your last sentence! Thank you for sharing, and best wishes to you.

I hope it didn't come off as someone crying over spilled milk. Writing is my life blood and I always hope others enjoy. Unfortunately, my brain got off track...because this site doesn't determine my writing or its value. thanks so much.

No, it didn't read that way at all!

Hi. I feel like I might know who you are. But, I'm not supposed to know.

We've all been where
Jake has been. Sometimes it's human politics. Other times, the chooser of the winner might not like writers who complain even when the.complaint is justified. If Tom (fanstory owner) does not like you can forget about winning contests even if the chosen work has Many grammatical errors and is thick as soup with other mistakes. Tom likes you, you'll win. Simple as that.

Maybe it was something like that for Jake.

Good job. Thank you for sharing.

I believe you hit the nail on the head! I have been out of sorts lately and I guess I was at a low ....but it's a bit of wacky humor and life goes on. Thanks for the kindness. I appreciate it very much. Have a great day!
