Hi Teri, we are all God's creatures, great and small, and basically, we all thrive connection to another. Your poem has good sensory appeal. As this is a contest entry, I wish you good luck. Xo. M

That is the kind of picture that tells each person a different story. Your story in a poem made me think of the child who sat at the park where his birthday party was and no one showed up. His mother walked around to different people and invited them to come for cake. He had a fabulous party. New friends. Gretchen

That's a great picture and your poem describes the setting perfectly! That raccoon seems to have a friend in that tree because he blends right in with the trunk colors. You're way ahead with this contest due in December. Best wishes in the contest.

I am fond of raccoons and I hope this little guy has some friends show up. Excellent 2-4-2 use of words to capture a scene of nature. I also like how you wrote a poem about a raccoon. Not many poems about them. Have a blessed day!

It's not good that a raccoon should be alone, they should always have a companion raccoon if a young female then meet a boy raccoon, for companionship, well done, blessings, Roy

I thought you did a wonderful job (with only three lines) of sharing what you see in the picture. I agree! Well done. Short but so sweet! I enjoyed reading it.

It looks like a raccoon painting. Did you sketch it? The picture makes the raccoon slightly lonely; like he's waiting for his forest friends to come his way and visit.

Thank you so much Rosey for this great review and your very nice comments. I wish I could draw or sketch, but I can't. My sister could draw really well. I can sing and write, but not draw. Our grandson likes to draw also. love and blessings, Teri

I love watching raccoons, though most are pretty well scared of people. One night, I watched a family of raccoons dive into a garbage container and enjoy an outdoor meal. I have always heard that when a raccoon shows itself to people, it may have rabies, but no raccoon has ever hurt me.

Thank you so much Jim for this great review and your very nice comments. We have outside cats, along with our inside cats. Every once in a while, we will see a big fat raccoon show up. I think it eats the leftover cat food! Blessings, Teri

They get hungry, just like us. Only they don't always know where their next meal will come from.
