This was a well-written post. I love older hymns because the speak of faith and trust in God. One of my favorites is "It is well with my soul." Your story brought back some good old memories. I enjoyed your story.

Love that you focused on hymns as part of your faith. They are pretty much going away in churches now, and soon will just be a memory. My favorites are "be thou my vision", and "amazing Grace." Thank you for sharing, I started singing, the ones I knew, as I was reading the titles! Julie

Thank you for your excellent review. I'm glad you sang along with me! Your favorites are among mine, too. I have many! My church has a blend of hymns and worship songs, and there are some of those I have learned to love - a favorite, "He Knows My Name."

I love the old songs i find myself wondering if the new generation will look back on the modern Christian music with adoration like we do the old hymns. Will Toby mac be their go to? I suspect they will.

Thank you, D, for a great review. I have wondered the same as you. I don't want our children's families to miss out on the joy of the hymns. I can enjoy with them some of the praise-worship songs, but nothing for me could ever replace the hymns.
