This story poem, Talking with Mom, reflects a gift of sweet memory which allows you to continue your real-time communications with she who gave you life.

WOW, Sandra, I love this poem! Am so glad to have read it! Such a beautiful message, and it touched me deeply. I had a dream about my mother, she was lying next me in bed, it was only a year or two after she died, she was wrapped in white like a mummy and was talking to me on the phone and I said "Mom, you're dead!" And she responded like she was a little embarrassed for having forgot that, it was like, "tee hee, oops!" What a great, inspiring and happy poem, it radiates love! Maddy

Hello Sandra,
I enjoyed reading your poem.
It is well written and relatable.
I'm sorry for the loss of your mum... It is a comfort to dream of our passed loved ones. I dreamed of my grandfather the other night - he was stood on my lawn smiling at me but disappeared as I approached him. The dream woke me, but I felt oddly peaceful.
Good luck in the contest.
Best wishes, Debra :)

Isn't that wonderful? A message from beyond, it's amazing but somehow our loved ones can still get a message of hope and promise from beyond this time and space we live in. Beautifully written, blessings Roy

Yes indeed I will, As Jesus as my savior. The bible says to be absent from the body is to be present with the Lord.

Well done

This poem was a lovely reminder that there is more to life than meets the eye, and our spirits have an eternal substance. I liked reading it. I am not sure how meeting for lunch works in the next heavenly realm, but someday we will get more information, I'm sure.
Little fix on punctuation:
She was visiting with her mom,, dad and family.
I would take one of the two commas out after mom and put one comma after dad.
So many people you just would'nt believe.
change to wouldn't

I am sorry for your loss, losing someone is so final and the thought of never seeing them again is devastating. Dreaming about them is a comfort to us a fine post and I can identify with your words, love Dolly x

A lovely conversation with your precious mother, and she is right. Those who are in the presence ofJesus are really home, in their forever and eternal home, where there is no grief or sadness, just sharing His love and glory and peace.

My mum died ten years ago, and I really, desperately miss her. You think your mother will be here forever and it's a shock when they die. Your poem is lovely, and a fabulous story in a poem. I lost my youngest brother four months ago, and it's nice to think he is now with our parents and relatives.
I like the way you have written this, just like sitting down and having a real conversation. Perhaps you were. We know nothing about what goes on when we drift into a really deep sleep. Well done, and good luck in the contest. :)) Sandra xx

Sandra Thank you for your kind review, I do appreciate it. I very seldom remember my dreams, but this one was as real to me as if I were on the phone with my sisters. I had to get up at 3 o clock in the morning to wright it down. The brain is a funny thing.

My mom passed in August, and I still miss her. I am glad she is with my dad and others she loves. She sure deserved the rest. We have to do with our memories till we get there too. Have a great weekend. Karen

Karen, Thank you for your review. I am sorry for your loss. It has been almost two years for me and I still miss her so much. I thank God we spent almost every Sunday afternoon with her.

A poem written from the fluidity of love. It is a heartfelt poem lavished with a great deal of real life experiences. One senses the urgency of visiting, hampered by practical issue, namely the absence of transportation. Another element is added to the poem, mum's urgency to leave. She must meet with other family members who now awaits her. A caring sad poem that highlights the writer's closeness with the departed family members.
