What a great reason to write. Do you make an outline or just write it? I just write and then edit. When I started as a writer for the writing programs, they were noticeably clear to as what we must say in the beginning paragraphs.

Yes -succinct and to the point - we don't often reflect on that fact but when we do that is probably the REAL REASON we write - thanks for reminding us!

Comment from Yusita
Initially, this seems like such a simple statement... but upon closer look and deeper thought, it is more than that... because I hadn't stop to think about it, but you're right... sometimes we write to find out what is within us waiting to come out and be expressed. Sometimes there are thoughts, feelings, etc hidden in our hearts that are discovered when we sit down and decide to write...

I really like that! No one has ever put it quite like that before but it really makes so much sense. You've used those ten words perfectly. Precise and to the point. Very well done, and good luck in the contest. :)) Sandra xx

Yes, I do believe that when one writes the truth come out from them more easily...
They are free to say what they want to say.
Excellent 10 word poem...

Brevity in writing requires great talent and you've managed that here. You've got your message clearly across in ten words. Well done. I'm still one letter short.

This ten-word poem, Why I Write ... in Ten Words, has the required word count and explains the art of thoughtful writing which preludes the vein of real usable data.

Seems clear enough to me. When I sit down, I rarely know in advance what exactly will come out. Sometimes when I attempt to plan out my poem or story, it quickly turns and goes it's own way. Good thought, good poetry. Karen

Isn't this just the most clever wee poem? Yes indeed, we do write to discover our voice, to imagine what might be most important to us, and to hope it is to others too. Well done! Best of luck in the contest.
