You have written a beautiful tribute. The loss of Ian, Sandra's younger brother. One never knows when or where we will be called home. Ian was a sickly child, things never got better from type 1 diabetes to the point of amputation. Ian had a long fight, now he is with the Lord.

This is a truly beautiful work of art. I like how it can be interpreted in multiple ways, yet it is not too abstract where one might get lost in potential meaning. I have my own theory, but I won't spoil the magic/illusion of this poem by writing it :) great work!

There is much comfort in words of another, even if a stranger of sorts. Healing from loss etc is no easy process and the companionship that words offer provide a healing power. Nice job.

Your artwork, notes, and poem are appreciated, Jessica. This is a beautiful poem, and I know Sandra will appreciate it very much. You have used many comforting images, like "stars of our memories." You have a very good progression of the relationship as it matures. They stay with us for the journey, but then comes their departure. The emptiness from our loss is
"an empty expanse
a silent melody."
The final two stanzas make a perfect, beautiful ending to the poem. Thank you for sharing it and adding to the book.

Thank you for sharing your work.
I appreciate the sentiment here, some people just impact us in a way that can never be duplicated.
You captured the feeling well here, they are eternally ours.

Hi Jessica,
This is a heartfelt free verse that uses line breaks well to enhance the emotion. It shows us how our family members who have passed away still stay a part of our souls.
This is a nice gift to Sandra.
Keep writing and stay healthy
Have a great weekend.

You have written a very emotional tribute to the role of siblings and family relationships, along with a huge sense of loss when they depart this world. Well written. Sandra will be comforted by your thoughts and poem, I am sure. Well done.

Very heartfelt, Jessica. I'm sure that Sandra would shed a tear if she sees this. The first line in each stanza is very effective. That was a very good idea.

A heartfelt poem about grief and loss and those of us who have experienced it will know how painful it can be and this is a fine poem of comfort for Sandra just now in her hour of need, love Dolly x x x
