Wow! What a story. You are a strong woman to look into your family history. I have cut all ties. My father is dead. My mother wants nothing to do with me. And, for that, I am grateful.
Her mother was an alcoholic who died from a ruptured brain aneurysm when she was 13. Intergenerational trauma, I choose to disconnect. Another powerful expression from you. Thank you for sharing. Much love, Jacqueline xx

Thank you, Jacqueline, yes, I choose to disconnect as well. There's really no other thing we can't be done. Although she continues to try to meddle in my life sometimes successful usually not. I appreciate your decisions and understand them completely again. I'm so sorry you went through this. I hope that you are well and happy today. I can relate to some of this. It's, unfortunately, common in the southern states for Father's, uncles, even brothers to have incestuous relationships with family members
I sense that your sharing the horror of your family is helping you escape the "tradition."
I have tried to overcome ALL of my family's "traditions." ( Racism, incest, lack of education)
Talking and writing is therapeutic.
I'm glad you're doing it.
Your reward will be peace and self confidence.
YOU are brave and VERY talented.
