The repetition of reaching up was emotionally impactful. I noticed relationship drawn between nature and "reaching up" to the narrator reaching up to God in the end.

I've never been at this point in my life but two of my children have been. It's horrible to see someone you love give up. This shows how much we need God no matter what our circumstances are. Well written. Gretchen

You made great use of a free verse like poem by using the repetition of "reach up" and with each instance you show us different forms of life reaching up and end with the narrator reaching up to God.

Thank God! You are the one who has all the love you felt so you will always have love, wherever and with whomever, if you are there. You can bring love to anything. I'm so glad you are passed that. I have been hurt in the past, left abruptly when someone didn't want to have a child in his life. I had my daughter. That was a shock because I was happy. That was after my ex husband and so many years ago. Still, we move on because the world needs the goodness that people like you or I could bring. Always remember this. What may seem devastating in one moment could be, and most likely is, the Gods Hand lifting you to a better situation that deserves who He knows you are. xx
