I could read that long yellow page forever! Very cleverly done and I see you've already won the contest. Your story had me smiling all the way through and really captured the essence of writer's block. Mind you, I think you should have another go writing about the seagulls. That so nearly got off the ground (complete with your Mum's chips:)) Take care Debbie

Ha ha!!! Sadly, the seagulls were just a fun MacGuffin for this particular poem. I suspect others have written about seagulls so much better than I ever could. Fun idea, though! Thanks so much for your lovely and encouraging review. xx

Very clever and amusing poem. It was easy to relate to the way the mind jumps from one thought to another, all the time, not finding that one thing she wanted. Great write and congratulations on the contest win. Cheers

I loved this piece about the struggles with writers block, and thought it was so well written. I chuckled at the reference to the seagulls in Finding Nemo. I can see why it won the contest. An excellent piece.

You have described writer's block very well and I think all of us 'writers' can relate to this well written piece of free verse poetry very much.
"I do remember the time
that mangy seagull with one leg
stole our hot chips at a picnic
and pooped all over my mother's handbag."
Love this lol. Good luck!

You did a phenomenal job of capturing the wandering thoughts of a person vaguely committed to writing. (Sounds like me, especially with the phone call). Congratulations on your well deserved win.

Oh this is hilarious! I just went through a writers block a month or so ago. It's not fun and was kind of depressing. But I got through it A-OK!
All writers go through it.
Congrats on the contest win.

I have enjoyed reading your piece of poetry. We all writers get writer's block but there is a cure for it. Congratulations on winning the contest! It's beautifully written.

This text made me laugh ! Your ideas associations are very funny, and you perfectly describe what's on the mind of the writer when he suffers from the blank page vertigo !!
Congratulations for your winning in the contest.

This poem, Writus Interruptus, follows the easily distracted writer as she attempts to expand on a thought that resists being extrapolated upon. ...................
