Hi Barry, it sounds like this adventure did more good for the father son relationship than all that expensive counseling.
You did a great job of building up the excitement of adventure in spite of circumstances that might have been discouraging.
I also liked the information about the Bushrangers. A great tale for adventurers of all ages.
Take care,
Rhonda

Teenage/parent relationships can be a bit tricky to get through but this was a trip that ended with them both finding the treasure was there all along. I enjoyed this Aussie bush story Barry, nicely told.

This is an enjoyable story! No booty found but an opportunity for father and son to bond together, especially after the ankle issue when, clearly, the hunt didn't matter any more. Your dialogue is excellently expressed and the whole story has good pace and credibility. Small edit: dialogue starting "The bushrangers... even when they had no idea what (lay) ahead.." Good job! Debbie

I enjoyed the story and smiled as the twists and turns of their adventure brought them to their most prized treasure...one another!
I recall similar bonding experiences between my dad and my brothers when they were in their teens.

This is a terrific story that builds scene by scene as the father and son pair adventure into the hard-to-reach spots. You take the readers with you to see the terrain and feel the environment. This type of effort and revelations from Dad rebuild bridges between them. Well done. It makes me feel good. Owe you a six.

This is quite a nice story. I guess bushrangers are similar to the highwaymen we had in England many years ago. I noticed one typo, ie, "your worth more" should be "you're worth more". Overall. a nice little tale.
