This is a well Don ekphrastic story poem about how witches get their company on Halloween night.
Jus a few words and a flick of wand will do it.
Good luck in the contest.
Have a good rest of the day.
Keep writing and stay healthy.

Oh, this is so perfect! Your rhyme, your meter, your whole concept, all are spot on and I'm throwing all six stars at you on this fine autumn day. Good luck in the contest, and I'm so hoping you win!

Hello, Laurie!
I am thrilled that my Halloween poem resonated so positively with you!
Thank you for your exceptional rating and complimentary review.
I so enjoyed penning this piece and solving the mystery as to why a witch needs a black cat and pumpkin on her broomstick on Halloween night!
Thank you ever so much!

This is a very good Halloween poem, Diane. Middle aged children will find this very entertaining. Very good usage of the repeated rhyme. This was very effective.

An enchanting read, finding many deposited aspects conveyed, tingling to my inner interests. A delighting presentation, in my given viewpoint. I confuse, being aware of the cat possession: never took serious the ideal of an alive pumpkin.

Your poem has excellent rhyme and rhythm, and it expresses a great deal of fun and good humour, which everyone will enjoy. We don't celebrate it much here, but it is obviously huge in the US. The three images are wonderful, and very appropriately included.

Thank you, Wendy, I am now understanding that many friends from "across the pond" either do not celebrate Halloween or are not too keen on the idea. One reviewer shared how saddened she was that black cats are depicted in the manner I shared.
Goodness...
And I so enjoyed creating and posting this piece.
So it goes...
Take Care!

Those are some great pictures. Love the kitty ones and I'm glad you show that the black cats are still magical even after Halloween. There's always a danger to black cats during this time. I think some vets treat black cats for free during October just because of this.
Great use of that single rhyme throughout the ten stanzas! Best wishes in the contest!

Good morning, Yvonne!
Seems I have posted/written so many somber poems lately that I just needed to have a bit of fun. And I surely enjoyed creating this piece.
So pleased you enjoyed it.
thank you!

You should do more like this. I liked it very much. We need more light-hearted things to read.

Hello, Yvonne!
I just wanted to share with you that your reply made me smile. For years, when I taught literature to high school seniors, so many would often remark to me that the chosen required novels were so depressing, and I always had to agree with them. It's really rather ironic that I often post somber, and quite possibly, depressing, pieces, as I am an incredibly optimistic and positive person! Guess I was just waiting for Halloween to bring that part of my personality out in my writing!
Thank you again!
