Losing someone close takes a lot of time to heal and the shock of it reverberates through families. A fine melancholy post Lisa, good luck with the contest, love Dolly x x x

Everything will become memories. But I hear that the memories can be uploaded to the computers so they can be downloaded to a new body. It has much longer life than the physical one.
Well done.

Absolutely true, and a very poignant write. Yet even that consolation is bitter-sweet. You have written something memorable and meaningful here, and I send best wishes for the contest.

I am so sorry to hear that. That?s incredibly sad. It?s clear he meant a great deal to you. Was it the one you rode around Australia on your motor bike with?

Yes, he was the one who shared the most adventurous activities I have ever done. He made me be brave and realise I could do anything. He was so full of life, always with a project - several - on the go. A complex man, very challenging as part of a couple, but I loved him.

Yes, there are people in my life that are long dead, and some more recent, I sometimes wish they existed in this time frame, but they don't, beautifully written essence poem, good luck, blessings Roy

This piece is hitting home right now. My 10-year-old wolf was diagnosed with cancer late last year, and it is a battle he just lost. I can't believe I am never going to see him again. The memories make me miss him and be thankful for him. He was a good dog.

I hope you can be consoled somehow about the loss of your dear companion wolf. xx

Hi Lisa,
You've got the inner rhyme, "ries/ease" and ending rhyme, "left/bereft", as well as 6 syllables/line. So you've paid attention to the rules.
Also, you have made a point in your short poem, that when our heart is breaking because a loved one has passed, we can recall memories to help us survive until we meet again. And we will meet again. Even with our pets, I believe.
Nicely penned! I wish you "Good Luck!" in the contest.
Hugs,
Kimbob

Awe Lisa.
This is not just heartfelt and stunning, it a great use of the prompt. Wish I had a six for you. Beautifully presented as well.
Would you consider using the word "those" bereft in place of the word "the" bereft. Either way it's a stellar poem. I anticipate this will do well. Best one I've read so far.

This essence poem, Death of a Beloved, has the proper formatting and sends out the mournful tones that must follow such a tragic loss that cannot be consoled.

Thank you Debbie.
The verse is from the heart. A man I loved died suddenly this week. Although not linked by marriage and children, we shared many adventures together over the past 17 years. I will miss him from my life. I am so glad I have many photos of our times together.

I'm so sorry to hear this and I think you have done him proud by commemorating him in this way. It's a beautiful touch.

Thank you Debbie. It flowed out almost without thinking what to say.
