A couple of reasons for a six - first of all, creative and interesting. More so because I would never, ever thought of you as a poker player -- which, of course, means you should be good at it. I loved the stories and the characters were well defined and made easy to get to know in just a few words. Well done. ann

LOL, Ann, I have been an occasional "low roller" poker player. Thank you for the six star review. Terry.

Great story and promotion for your contest, Terry! I chuckles as I read that Ric was trying his luck in Vegas. I hope they're ready for him! (smile)
I won't be entering because I can't even win at Gin Rummy and all my expertise is wrapped up in the lyrics of the famous Kenny Rogers song...
(I'll be humming that for about ten hours now!)
I know you don't enter your own contests, but honestly Terry, I wish you would!
The tale of Sam and Don (and their fear of Sarah) had me laughing out loud!

I saw the challenge for a poker story, though I don't know if any of mine would be at par with those I read here. These were neat and all rolled into the Kenny Rogers theme.

Bill, I hope you do enter. My story is not entered. As far as I know, this is the first story to promote a contest. I don't enter my created contests because it would be embarrassing to lose and deemed self-serving if I won! LOL, Go for it. Terry.

There are some good life lessons in this Kenny Rogers' song. I know it well as I do the movies. Thank you for sharing this post with us. I greatly enjoyed reading.
Don sighed, "It's like this. (sighed.)

Barbara, thank you for reading and your suggestion. Terry.

That was a fabulous story, Terry, and I loved that song and Kenny Rogers. I hope Sam and Don are still friends, lol. Basically, they came out no worse off then they both were before the game, and it never pays to play with friends. This was a good lesson, aided by Kenny. Loved it! :)) Sandra xx

Sandra, your analysis is correct! Sadly died a couple of years ago. Lost touch with Don. Thanks for reading. Terry.

Terry, I have to admit, at first, I thought a story about poker; since i know nothing of the game, I would not be interested. I could not have been more wrong. Each story held my interest and was an enjoyable read. You do not have to know the game to enjoy interesting and good stories.
Best wishes,
Mary

Hey, Terry!
I enjoyed these little snippits of life in the fast lane, lol. I never did get into poker as I learned from my father's mistakes. He was a terrible poker player and lost his shirt many a time. That being said, I still admire a man that can win at games of chance. Best, JohnC

John, thanks for reading. I do like the game, but I'm not much of a gambler. Terry.

Oh wow, this is such a great story... Is it Non Fiction?
Loved it and yes!!! You have to know when....
I love all Kenny Rodgers songs... They were great!
Glad to know that Sam was smart not going Don another check... Why wasn't he more careful...ha ha..
I can not play poker but boy oh boy I do enjoy gambling...but only every so often and the smoking in the Casinos is terrible so I seldom go...

I enjoyed reading your stories. Using the Kenny Rogers song as the backbone of your stories was unique. I do not see any room for improvement. Have a blessed day.
