An interesting and thought-provoking piece. I do think it's 'palette' though, unless the US spelling is different? I like your metaphor of the effect of age on the colours of our life.

I'm reading a few of these and this one is very enjoyable. Love the theme of colours and their importance throughout the stages of your life. The repetition is of course charming and musical so very satisfying for the reader! A great job! Thanks for sharing. Debbie

Oh Chrissy, this is a lovely poem. It reminds of some Donovan or Julie Felix songs, way back. I haven't reviewed many repetition poems on this site, and you have to be confident to try them. When they go wrong, they crash and burn - but this is very assured and accomplished. It reads like a song, which is really unsurprising with this form.
Rhyme scheme is a simple aaab, three iambics with four beats, last line three beats - which I call a successful cadence - each stanza feels completed.
The lovely metaphor of linking colors to your life development works very well - white for the innocence of youth, then the various blending of colors and experiences - but what stands out in this poem is your optimism: the palette never fades. I wish that everyone could say that.
Thank you so much for writing this sunny poem.
Paul
