You did a fun poem - but I don't see that it is in the Father's Day contest? It's amazing how many different names they have, but as you say, it doesn't matter what they are called they all give and receive much love. Well done.

Hi Wendy, Y know I couldn't put it in the contest because so many knew that I was going to do it so it was best this way. Thank you for being a part of it.
s appreciated it a lot. Thanks for your kind comments my sweet friend.

Oh yes, I see. It's a blind contest. Never mind - everyone will still enjoy it.

Cute poem with so many names for grandfathers, who are loved around the world. So fitting to post this on Father's Day. Where would kids be without the interactions of their grandfathers? Good rhymes, and lots of fun activities included. Good song by the Judds, also. Blessings. Carol

Carol, Thank you for your very kind comments and yes my grands weren't here today but they all remembered their grandpa. I appreciate you so much dear friend.

Hope you both had a great day. We went to a recital for our grandson Kaleb, who played drums and sang while he played. He twirled his drum sticks like a rock star! He was awesome, and it was so much fun.

This poem rhymes well. You have done a great job to describe what your grandpas do.

I like grandpa open his arms of hugging, it feels so warm and loving.

I agree grandpas do silly things.

Thanks for sharing

What a delightful look at grandfathers of all kinds. Me thinks your husband is the prime example you chose for many of your examples. This is a poem to warm your heart!

Hello again Debi. I'm sure I reviewed this gentleman's wife some time ago - she got 5 stars too, so now they're sharing 10! Lovely idea to go through lots of different names for grand-dads (our UK norm) - that made it personal for a host of readers, I'm sure. The content is just great, but I think it is worth a bit of revision, to make it even sharper: check out all the lines for the correct number of syllables, with the emphases in the right places, when it is read aloud. Eye -rhymes don't always work out the way you think, so read it aloud with a friend and see what you think. Whatever you may or may not change, it's a great and really enjoyable poem.
Very best wishes, Paul

Hi Paul and a happy Father's Day to you. Yes, I am a sucker for doing these longer line story poems and if you do not read syllable to syllable, it may seem off. That is why I also have to use commas in there to make sure that they are reading it right. The meter from line to line may change a little and I have changed it so many times since I posted because that is when I find my own mistakes the best. I go back and forth from thirteen and fourteen syllables which I think is needed in order to keep the right pace, but when I read each syllable slowly, I find no more mistakes. Maybe if you could be more specific as I always respect good feedback and is why I do as well here, because I always believe we are never too good that we can't get better. And I do thank you with all my heart for taking the time to make suggestions. Thanks so much my dear friend..

Too late to go through that tonight, Debi. I'll try to look at it again tomorrow

What a fun poem! Hope Glen had a super Father's day and was well celebrated! Thank you for sharing this and the different ways that grandfathers show their love.

By the way in your notes you have Baba (that's me!) then later you have Saba. Just FYI. ð???

Helen, I am confused because your notes told me that it was Saba. I thought Baba was someone else, but I just looked and you had written that Saba was Hebrew and what Jay was called. I will go and change but need to know. I know Roy is Bapa so what I did was change the stanza for faith to be both you and Roy, but if Saba is wrong I will change it again.
LOL, they do all start to sound alike after a while.
reply by lyenochka on 18-Jun-2023
No, Saba is right. But when introduce it and include my name, you wrote Baba there. It's easy to mix up as they're so similar. After that paragraph, you have Saba (Hebrew)
reply by the author on 18-Jun-2023
Yes, I see I did list it with the other nation's popular ones and I did forget to add it to the ones that the husband's are named. Sorry about that. I can't believe I made that mistake, but I hope you look at it again as I added it in my faith stanza, as there is no place that he belongs more than in the one that makes the best grandpa of all. Or should I say Saba?? (Big Smile) please wish him a very happy one for me. I hope you both are doing ok thru all of the moving and stress. I am going in right now to add the name to the names by you girl's names.
    Love ya sweet friend.

Yes! You got it! Hope you have a wonderful evening with Glen. We're packing and meeting friends and neighbors to say goodbye. Sigh.

Hey Debi, this is such a very very nice tribute to old men like me. L. O. L. I think we, as a society, have lost the age old practice of honoring our senior citizens. Families are constructed of young, middle-aged, and old. When you lose respect, for one sector, you negate the impact of the unit. You used words that I have never heard for grandfathers. Thanks for doing that, I needed some new names ha ha. You're the best sis. God bless you as you continue to recover and then go under the knife one more time.

Thanks dear brother and it is too bad that you consider yourself old, but I am still young. Hehe! Actually I am now a queenager! I knew I married an older man for a reason, as he goes thru it all three years before me so that by the time I get there I don't think it is so bad. I do however think that the older I get , the younger ages like 70 seem now. So unless you want to all of a sudden become my older brother, you must now call yourself old. Lol...hahahaha!
Thanks for the sweet batch of six stars again!!
Thanks so much for always being the sweetest and kindest guy around.
You are so good for the ego. Lotsa love big, I mean lil bro. (Big smile)

I hear what you say sis. The honest truth is I don't feel 68 years old. Except for the aches and pains that could be arthritis I feel like I could be 50. Oh well I am and will always be your little brother! L O L

Debbie, this is a beautiful and exceptional, well-written poem. As I read it the third time, I got the feeling it was written just for me. Wish I had written it. Thank you from the bottom of my heart for remembering us.
My grand children and great grandchildren believe I can walk on water.
It's great to have such love from your family. It shows a life well lived.
Exceptional and deserving a ten, but I can only give a six. Take care, my good friend. Willie

Willie, as one of my favorite guys here I wish you the happiest Father's Day ever. I don't doubt that your grandkids feel that way about you as the person I know is deserving of that respect. Thank you dear friend for the kind comments and for your virtual six stars. Enjoy your day!!!

Debbie, I gave you a solid six, not a virtual one. Williie

This poem, Grandpas Around the World, presented with fourteen rhyming couplets, reminds the readers that the institution of parenthood is revered from sea to sea.

Thanks Bill, and I hope that I am accurate at wishing you a very happy Father's Day. You never really said if you had kids or grandkids. However lol, its hard to imagine what they might look like, since all I've ever had to go on is your profile pic. Sorry my friend, just having a little fun with you. If you are, you got my biggest wish possible. Thanks so much for the kind review.

You did a great job, Debi, to celebrate all
grandfathers everywhere. I enjoyed reading
your well thought out poem. I remember the
earlier one you wrote for Grandmas. This is a
perfect companion piece to it. The end rhymes
were fun, the flow was smooth, and you gave
great examples of Grandpas I'm sure each could
find himself in your words. I liked how you used
the names from different cultures. I agree. Most
grandpas love spending time with their grans. They
have great wisdom and patience to teach even the
littlest ones. The video was a perfect addition.
Thanks for sharing and caring, Jan

Oh Jan, you are so sweet. If I could nominate you again, I sure would.
You can't imagine how thankful I am for you and your kindness.
Thanks from the bottom of my heart. I also appreciate that you would take the time to alert me that there might have been a mistake in my notes and poem. However as Helen's review says, she now says that Jay was a Baba not a Saba. So I rechecked the notes and she did say Saba so I did write her back and told her that but haven't checked yet if she responded. Anyway after I do I may have to change something since it has three days to go.
Thanks for everything, including your stars. I sure appreciate it!
