"Colorful nightlife"! You're so funny! And yes, I remember you told me about this before but I'm glad you shared with everyone here and especially since your surgery is coming up on Wednesday. I'm so glad there is the technology, and I'm glad that you have such a positive outlook, and I'm praying for perfect vision for you!!

Oh Helen, I thank you so very much for your sweet words for this story. It means more because you have been so supportive since I did share this with you a while back. Now you know some of the empty areas that I left out. I appreciate your six stars. The comments and stars are special, but you mean so much to me. Love you!

Very clever to see these visions as Ferris Wheels. Frightening event of the highway. At least you had the good sense to pull over and call home. This served as a wake up call that something was wrong. Interesting that your sister also had an eye injury. Your last sentence adds humor to your post.

Wow Debi! I'm glad you shared this story. I have night vision problems that prevents me from driving after dark. Lights are magnified to the point of being painful and blinding.
I once visited my husband in the hospital. When I left, it was dark. I was driving on a major highway and couldn't see where to turn off. I drove up and down, up and again down unable to see. There was no one to call, so I kept trying various roads until I got it right.
Your eye challenges are more severe and I'm glad you shared your experiences. It may surely help others and encourage others to share. I pray all goes well with your surgeries.

I've never heard of anything like you describe. Thankfully, you have a great support system and help was readily available to come to your aid.
You are so correct abut sharing. How do we know if people don't share, and it would have been comforting if you'd known about your sister's experience.
Best of luck with your surgeries. God bless.

I don't have a similar experience but your story gives me an appreciation for the fact that our health problem (while serious) do not affect our vision. I pray your surgery is successful and you will be completely healed.
Take care Debbie and keep your positive attitude.
Blessings

Hi Debi, your story is most helpful to everyone, and timely, because of your up-coming surgeries. If someone should ever ask you if you have seen "The Light," you can indeed answer them that you have.
Whenever a person is driving and has a medical episode that is very scary, especially when it affects your eyes. Of special note:
Every night if I look outside, it appeared our neighbors were having parties with carnivals, and many colorful lights.
(Debi, Wow! I never knew that you were having such a swinging nightlife up there in MN. Although scary, those lights most certainly helped to brighten the long winter nights. You just might miss them a wee bit.)
Your story is well done; well told, and I'm sure that it will remind many people to have their eyes examined on a routine basis.
Good luck, my beautiful Sis, with your surgery. I'm leaving you with a tune. You'll have to copy and paste it--I Love The Nightlight ~ Alicia Bridges. Xo. M

I completely understand, as this happens to me at times, as well. It gets to the point where it seems the lights are so bright that I can't see anything. I just went to the eye doctor, but he didn't say that he saw anything out of the ordinary. Knowing about your story, though, I may have to make an appointment to go back and see him.

Wow, that's a challenging experience! Thanks for sharing. You're right, if we don't share, others won't either. I hope your surgery goes well. The title of this story was intriguing, and the description you use to talk about your sight problems are beautiful but unsettling. It's easy to see how it would be upsetting to have this happen - especially in the beginning when you didn't yet have an explanation. I think you conveyed your experience very well.

Wow Debi! What an experience! I've never heard of this problem before although I am pushing 70. My eyes are not the best but I am thankful that they work. I can imagine how terrifying it was for you when you saw those lights coming at you on the highway! I hope you're better now. It's true that our sight is one of the most cherished senses we have. I wish you the best of good health there.

You are already opening up with a curious statement: "I didn't notice anything unusual." you have yanked the reader along. & further: "But would new lights make such a difference" Many readers know wonder now, because they care: "Now I understood why I thought mine was the most beautiful Christmas tree ever. We still did not know & then a year later, whaat? I told my husband, "wow, isn't that cool?" He asked what I was talking about, and I told him the fireworks."
I had shingles, I can't imagine how painful that must have.I have neuralgia on my left upper & under are & upper back. They still itch from eczema. I guess they always will. I look like a junkie scratching at my eczema on my shoulder & upper chest. I continue to send healing and clarity and dexterity to your medical team.
